yarn to good use.
She is accepting dona-

which she will use to
make afghans for nursing
home residents.
So far, she has received
donations front the Zurich
area and has donated
afghans to the Bluewater

She stresses the dona-

Ca
t between winter and spring
Members of the badminton team participated in a
tournament last weekend and played very well. Way
to go, South Huron! Keep up the good work.
This is the time of year students will be feel-
ing the stress of midterms. Study hard,
because reports are coming out on April 1;4.
On Fri:, March 26,, students were treated to a
concert from the bands and choirs of South
Huron. The music was great, and a fun time
was had by all. It's easy to see why four of' the
groups qualified to go to the Nationals in May.
The Cabaret, a night of music and appetiz-
ers, is at 7 p.m. on Sat., April 24. Tickets will
be on sale for $5 and can be bought from any
band member.
The S.H.D.H.S. Music Department held their
annual Spring Concert last Sunday. The bands
put out a top performance and the choirs sang
just as well. There was a huge turnout by friends and
family of the musicians. Congratulations to all students
involved in any of the groups. Your efforts are greatly
appreciated.
On Mon., March 29, a Mass Arts Day was
held for students in the public feeder schools.
Students were chosen from Grades 4-8 to par-
ticipate in this exciting day of drama, music
and visual arts activities at South Huron. The
day was a huge success! Thanks to all stu-
dents and teachers who organized these activ-
ities and kept the day running smoothly.

Earth Week highlights
EXETER - Around the
world, communities cele-
brate Earth Day on April
22 and undertake envi-
ronmentally -friendly
activities throughout the
entire Earth Week.
Locally, the Ausable
Bayfield Conservation
Authority will bring the
Earth Week message to
watershed communities
through an hour long pre-
sentation including a pup-
pet show entitled
Eldritch's. Earth Day
Extravaganza.
"Eldritch is a fun loving,
environmentally -sensitive
oddball, who shares the
story of the Gotiwai Clan,
a group of creatures who
once were everywhere
but now seem only like a
dream," explains Rob
Ridley, of the ABCA.
"Why did they disap-
pear? Can anything bring
them back? Eldritch may
have the answer and all
he needs is a lot of inter-
ested youth with their
favorite stuffed animal by
their side," Ridley said.
"Bring your favourite
stuffed animal with you to
watch this hilarious show
with a thoughtful mes-
sage."
There is no charge for
admission and Ridley pre-
dicts all family members
will find the presentation
amusing.
