It's here — Tae Bo
mania hits Exeter
EXETER— Tae Bo has
kicked its way into
Exeter in a big way.
Tae Bo incorporates
kick boxing and karate
moves into a cardiovas-
cular workout.
It's all the rage and
classes fill up soon after
they're announced.
There isn't an open
Tae Bo spot in London
and the craze has landed
in Exeter.
In fact, the demand for
Tae Bo has forced
Exeter's Step Aerobics to
add Friday and Saturday
cardio kickbox sessions
to its already full
Tuesday and Thursday
night classes.
"People are trying like
crazy to get into a Tae
Bo class," Step Aerobic's
Sharon Steciuk said.
But why the mania?
"You get such a differ-
ence in your body in a
short time," Steciuk said.
"It just works all parts of
your body so well."
Tae Bo tones and
tightens muscles all over
the body and even pro-
vides practitioners with
those 'six pack' abdomi-
nal muscles everyone's
after.
Tae Bo also helps peo-
ple get the lead out.
"It energizes you,"
Steciuk said. "That's the
best thing about exer-
cise."
Participating in the
Step Aerobics cardio
kickbox sessions will also
do wonders for your self
esteem.
"It gives you a feeling
of empowerment,"
Steciuk said. "You feel
you can conquer the
world."
The mania has taken
hold of a wide range of
people from adolescents
to seniors.
"It's absolutely fun,"
Steciuk said. "It's a
mania. You have to get
on the wagon!"
Although Step
P
Aerobic's Tuesday and
Thursday classes are
full, Steciuk is extending
the craze to Fridays
starting at 5:30 p.m. and
Saturdays at noon. Eight
classes cost $50.
For more information
on Tae Bo mania, call
Steciuk at 235-1289.
