The Huron OPP received a report from an Ellen St.
homeowner that a Santa Claus ornament made of
wood and painted red and white was stolen from the

GRANTON - The Biddulph History
Committee met at the Township Office in
Lucan Monday evening February 15.
The history book which went on sale
just two days before Christmas is selling
quite well and can be obtained at the
township office.
Plans are underway for an auction to
be held at the Lucan Community Centre
on April 10 to raise funds to celebrate
the sesquicentennial of Biddulph
Township in year 2000.
The pancake supper at St. Paul's
Anglican Church in Kirkton on Shrove
Tuesday was well attended.
Clandeboye Women's Institute mem-
bers had a car trip to Bellamere in
London for lunch on February 17. Later
the group toured the new winery there.
Becky Kindree and Cathie Westman
hosted the luncheon and euchre at the
Lion's Hall in the park pavilion on
February 19. Prizes for high score and
lone hands were awarded to Jean Noon
and Elsie Dann and everyone received
consolation prizes.
At the Granton United Church on
February 21 the First Bryanston Guiding
and Scouting groups and their leaders
were in attendance. Lay Pastor Val
Hodgins entitled her message, 'What

At St. Paul's Anglican Church in
Kirkton, February 21, the first Sunday of
Lent, Rev. Glenda Meakin's message
was about Jesus resisting the tempta-
tions of Satan. Ray Venturion was the
reader.
Lenten Reflections on Healing and
Wholeness will be held at St. Paul's each
Monday during Lent, commencing
February 22 at 12 noon, followed by
lunch at 12:30 p.m.
Granton 4H
The first meeting of the Financial
Fitness 4-H project was held at the
home of leader Margaret . Bryan on
February 17. After opening with the 4-H
pledge, officers were elected. and
Shannon O'Shea was chosen president.
O'Shea took the roll call which was
answered by telling what you would . do
with a thousand dollars.
Business discussion included a name
for the club and quggestions for a guest
speaker for achievement night.
Members then worked individually on
information in the manual about coin
recognition and the importance and
value of goals. Two groups were then
formed to talk about decision making. A
chart on goals is to be filled out for the
next meeting on February 24 and the
meeting was closed with the 4-H motto.
Blue Water residents display their
wedding photos on valentine's Day
ZURICH - Heritage Day,
February 15, was cele-
brated by the residents of
Blue Water Rest Home.
Many full-time staff mem-
bers were absent for the
statutory holiday and they
enjoyed the day with their
family and friends.
On February 13, Max
Ducharme and The
Townliners entertained
the residents in the after-
noon. Ducharme playing
violin, Phyllis Deichert as
pianist. George Matthonia.
as accordionist and
Harvey Smith playing the
guitar had the residents
swaying to the music.
The residents and staff
brought in their wedding
pictures and put them on
display for the Valentine
Day love theme. Everyone
enjoyed viewing the cou-
ples, picking up the
hereditary features of the
couples then and now and
how the children of the
couples resemble their
parents.
Tuesday evening the
Christian Reformed
Church choir members
entertained the residents
with the singing of hymns.
Peter Visscher was Chair,
Steve Poorttinga was
pianist and Annie
Zandbergen read "God's
Love."
Thursday evening the
Grand Bend C.W.L. and
Grand Bendo Pathfinders
entertained the residents
for their February birth-
day party. Margrit Breuer
was Chair, and Cassie
Russell and Amanda
Breuer played piano
solos. The Pathfinders
played chimes and sang
for the residents. Birthday
celebrants were Alice
Knowles, Ralph (Red)
Farrell, Marie Gingerich
and Bernice Cann who
received gifts from the
Auxiliary.

Ms. Gingerich's 80th
