St. Boniface Youth Club planning a talent show

Town Hall. Everyone is

the hall. Pastor Reynold Kipfer
said his final sermon at
the Mennonite Church
on January 24, followed
by a potluck lunch. The
Interitn Pastor and his
wife. of Kitchener, were
pt'esented with a hand-
made quilt.
A musical program was
held in the afternoon.
UCW life membership awarded
GRAND BEND.- Twelve: women
attended the United Church Women*
meeting held last Thursday after,
noon, January 14.
The roll call Was answered by "A
New Years Resolution". Due to the
uncertain cold weather, only a short
business meeting was held. -
At the close of the service on
January 10, U.C.W. president Evelyn
Johnson was presented with a
U.C.W. Life Membership certificate
from Joyce Thompson, and with a
U.C.W. pin by Marg Love.
Bertie Keyes read an address pre-
ceding the presentation.
The U.C.W. donated $50 towards
the Grand Bend Winter Carnival.
The United Church Women are.
preparing a 60" x 72" wall hanging
to enter in a contest at the plowing
match.
The top is completed and the fin-
ished project will be set up at Sauble
Court, January 25, ready for quilting.
Quilters are needed. Phone 238-

A family winter party will be held
January 31 from 3 to 6 p.m. orga-

Awareness".
Rev. R. Putman was in charge and
spoke to the children on "Discovering
Something." To the adults, Rev.
Putman spoke about the many things
that shape people's lives.
Bertie Keyes read scripture :and the
musical presentation by the 'choir
was entitled, 'Spirit of God'. Anne
Reycroft gave prayers for the people.
The theme at Grand Bend United
Church on January 24 was "Together
in the Light". Rev. Putman spoke to
the children about fishing and fol-
lowing Jesus. He spoke to the adults
about how different churches wor-
ship.
Vee Wilde read scriptures and the
choir's musical presentation was
"Weall are one in Jesus Christ."
The Huron Perth Presbyterial is
scheduled for February 8 at
'Centralia United Church at 9:15-a.m.
with Zion West hosting. Call Joyce at
