February 25, 1987 - Ontario Minister of .Agriculture and Food
Jack Riddell took the opportunity of buying his crop insurance from
Dashwood Crop Insurance agent Don Weigand at the 20th anniver-
sary banquet of crop insurance agents early in February. Last year
more than 18,000 Ontario farmers purchased crop insurance.

February 24, 1977 - More than 2,000 persons participated in -the
Crippled Kids weekend at the Pineridgc Chalet and one of the most
excited visitors was London's Timmy, Larry Furby. Bill Brady of
CFPL Radio was chief cook for the sixth year and Ralph Duffusof
the London Crippled Children's Association was there for the fourth
time.
The T. Harry Hoffman Funeral Home in Dashwood recently comp
pleted a.40 by 16 foot addition to the existing establishment huilt.in
1942, marking the first residential Funeral Home in the surrounding
area,at the time and now 35 years of service to the community.

February 24, 1962 - A 17 year-old ..Crediton ,Queen's Scout,
Charles E. Browning Jr. has been commemorated by the Governor
General for helping to extinguish gasoline flames which engulfed.
