- Dressed in white wispy costume
the juveniles adopted a
fairy talc theme featuring
a music ntedly from Bcau-

derella and •Pinochio. The
juniors, dressed in black
and white "gangster suite.'
costumes, will skate to a

Dick Tracey.
Merner, who picked
picked both themes prior
to the beginning of the season, said
winning competitions ofteg relies

"The judges like to see the music

LONDON - A mixture of the Exeter and District Ringette Wom-
ens competitive "B" and recreational teams joined forces to help fill
a vacant spot in the London Womens Ringette Tournament last
weekend.
The group had a respectable performance picking up one win and -
dropping two close matches.
In the opening game on Saturday, Exeter met the host team and
quickly fell behind 5-1 at the half in the physical and chippy game.
Jayne Rowe set up a nice pass to Tonya Riehl for the lone goal.
Exeter's defence picked up in the second half as they held London
to one more goal and put the ring in the net three more times with
Tiffany Tryon, Sue Coates and Jenn Watt scoring for Exeter to make
the match close; but they had to concede the win 6-4.
Exeter rebounded from the Toss to win the second game over St.
Clements 6-3.
Exeter coach Michele Hodgcrt said the game was just as rough as
the first one, but despite playing short handed for most of the first
period the team pulled through for the win.
"Everything came together at the end," she said. "We didn't get
any penalties we didn't deserve."
Riehl scored twice, and Cindy Moore, Corlette Elder, Jayne Rowe
and Jill Sararas recorded goals for Exeter.
In the last match -up Ayre beat Exeter at their own game out -
muscling them and out -scoring them 5-3 by the end of the third pe-
riod. Exeter pulled the netminder in favor of the extra attacker hut
Ayre scored on the empty net to solidify their win.
Hodgert said fhe third game was a clean and fast contest despite
the physical play.
"They (Ayre) arc a strong team and they read the play well," she
said. "We were coming hack, but we couldn't get anything going in
their end."
Sue Coates, Sararas and Chris "Flaming Red" Morgan scored for
• for the home team.
The Exeter Womens team will see action again in Wednesday as.
they take on the Waterloo Warthogs. They have five more regular
league games before the playoffs begin in the end of March.
