LONDON CONVENTION CENTRE
The Love Puppy
By Jacob Miller, Grade 6/7
Zurich Public School
He is only a puppy but. who would
guess,
That a small heart could hold so
much friendliness?
At morn or at dusk, when the door
bell rings,
He will welcome you: his tail will
wag.
He will leap, and jump at your feet,
he will do a stumbling dance.
He is only a pup, but his heart is
true,
And his world is cherished,
By all with his loved ones, and for
his love they give him the best of
all the bones.
Christmas Eve
By Lindsey Haney, Grade 6
Exeter Public School
One snowy Christmas Eve, I nev-
er thought Santa Claus would make
it to my house. I started to fall
asleep, when all of a sudden I heard
this big thump on our roof. I
dered what that noise was. I got out
of my bed and started down the
stairs. When Iob
saw this big red ,jtt3li
are you?" I asked. "I'm Sa
Claus", said the big red thing. Then
I went over to ask what he was do-
ing and he said "I'm putting Christ-
mas gifts under your tree. Is that
o.k.?"
"Yes, that's fine," I replied. I
started back up the stairs and I said
"Have a safe trip back to the North
Pole."When I got to the top of the
stairs, I went back to bed. I woke
up on a nice sunny day with snow
outside on the trees. I put some
clothes on, and ran down the stairs,
and went to see what I got. When I
gathered up my presents, I went to
wake up mom and dad. I told them
to come downstairs to see how
many presents I got. Then we all
started to open up our presents.
That was the best Christmas I ever
had.
The Old Flying
Machine
By Jason Batten, Grade 6
Exeter Public School
It was the night before Christmas
and all through the North Pole, eve-
ryone was ready except for the poor
old reindeer. They moaned and
groaned so then Santa said "Un-
hitch these moaning, igroaning rein-
deer and find something else I can
drive."
The elves ran around trying to
find something that Santa can
drive, when one of the elves tripped
over a blanket and found something
that Santa could drive. It was San-
ta's old Yamaha snowmobile. The
elf started jumping around and said,
"I found something you can drive."
So they washed it and fueled it up,
and it flew out like a bat out of
heaven. Santa drove and drove and
finally stopped at a house that was
so, so big that he could fit his
snowmobile right through the front
door, but he said "No." So he drove
onto the roof. He sucked in his jolly
belly and he went down the chim-
ney. When he reached bottom, he
looked around and saw a nine foot
tree standing in the corner of the
room. Old Saint Nick opened his
big red gold striped sack and start-
ed putting gifts around the tree.
Santa had just finished putting gifts
around the tree, when he walked
into the kitchen and had a rum and
pepsi and some cookies top it off.
Suddenly Santa heard a clatter so
he hurried back up the chimney and
he was in such a hurry that he went
back to the snowmobile he had
parked on the roof. He had para-
chutes hooked onto the presents so
that he could drop some presents
right down the chimney. When he
was done, he went back to the
North Pole. He got back. He drove
the snowmobile right into the work-
shop. In the workshop he stopped
the snowmobile, took off his suit,
and put on his pyjamas. he climbed
into bed and went to sleep.
I would like long combat Force
Rangers walkie talkie set, a Lego
Nebula Outpost and a remote
control caror truck please. I love you
Santa. •
