Queensway residents planning
Christmas and New Year's parties
HENSALL - Queensway Nursing
Home's Volunteer Auxiliary met
Monday morning. Plans are under-
way for the Resident Christmas
Party December 21 with Bill Clark
and his Band entertaining, and the
New Years Eve Party December
31. They plan to have an evening of
games and a progressive euchre.
There will be lots of prizes and re-
freshments for everyone. The fes-
tivities will begin at 7 p.m. Local
seniors are welcome to join the res-
idents for both events.
Tuesday's church service was led
by Ann Annen with Belva Fuss as
pianist. Volunteers Mazy Roobal,
Marg Cole and Sharen Dignan as-
sisted at the service.
Seven residents attended Break-
fast Club led by Julie Debus
Wednesday morning. Sausage,
eggs, toast and coffee were on the
menu as well as enjoyable conver-
sation.
Wednesday afternoon several res-
idents were the recipients of aroma-
therapy and massage.
Thursday's Diners stayed to hear
the Zurich Mennonite Praise
Group. Everyone joined in singing
Christmas favorites. Afterward, fel-
lowship and refreshments were
shared.
Resident bakers met Friday after-
noon and produced almond bark
and chocolate peanut butter bars.

the Queensway Christmas. draw:
Jean Simpson won a gift basket;
Shirley Stone won a knitted shawl;
and Janis Butson won a baby quilt
and pillow.

Women's Ministries for the Exeter
Pentecostal Tabernacle was held at
the home of Jean Jolly at 2 p.m.
Jenny Kipfer presided over meet-
ing and read a thank you car, from
the president for the fruit basket
which was sent to her when she
was ill.
Ella Tinney prayed over the ser-
vice.
The group sang the Hymn "Sav-
ior Like a Shepherd Lead Us."
Marion Triebner accompanied on
the piano.
The roll call was taken by Shirley
Prouty and answered by a Bible
verse. There were 10 present.
The minutes were read by Shirley
Prouty. The treasurers report was
given by Helen Kendrick.
Blessing Unlimited donated $100
to the group for which the group
was thankful.
It was decided to donate to seven
orphanages, and also to Marilyn
Bush for medical supplies. It was
also decided to send a donation to
Pastor and Mrs. Dunscomb in
Northern Ontario.
A box of groceries will be sent to
the Tiganis in Terrace Bay.

lead in singing Silent Night, Holy
Night.
Ruth McLaren was in charge of
the special. Ruth McLaren gave
everyone a copy of "The Royal
Telephone" and all sang with her.
Jenny Kipfer read a letter from
Bankok Thailand telling of a revi-
val there. Ada Triebner gave the
message, and read the scripture.
She also read an article "The Man
in the Mirror".
Jenny Kipfer read a Christmas ar-
ticle "A Real Cool Christmas".
The ladies prayed. Lunch was
provided by the hostess Jean Jolly
and everyone brought lunch.
Some Christmas boxes were
packed for some shut-ins.
