Members of the community gathered at the Dashwood Community Centre on Thursday night to receive a portion of the $4,000 raised at Friedsburg Days last summer. Candle of hope lit in GB GRAND BEND - On the first Sunday of Advent, December 1, the Sacrament of Holy Communion was observed at Grand Bend Unit- ed Church. Barry and Marla Nich- ols, with children Matthew and Elissa, took part in lighting the first candle of Hope. The parents gave a reading while the children did the lighting. Rev. R. Putman's sermon topic was "Ready or Not, Christ is Com- ing." The scriptures were read by Glena Horner. The choir anthem was "All Earth is Waiting." It was The Reign of Christ Sun- day on November 24 at Grand Bend United Church. The Angel Tree was up, a program to assist children in the care of the Huron County Children's Aid.
