The annual Bluewater Shrine Club Golf Tournament was held at Exeter's Ironwood for the sec-
ond year running last Wednesday. Nearly 120 golfers paid the $110 entry fee to play and en-
joy dinner at the course. The goal was to raise $10,000 for the Shriners Hospitals for Crip-

Can the Mohawks survive?
Does the loss of three key team mem-
bers spell the end of Senior 'A' hockey
in Exeter?
EXETER - Come September, will there be a Senior 'A' hockey team
on the ice in Exeter?
Given that three key members of the Mohawks have left the team to
join the Junior 'D' Hawks, there is some question as to whether or not
the Mohawks will still he in business this fall.
"We won't know until later on," said Mohawks president Stu Taylor
Monday evening.
A date for the Mohawks annual meeting has not yet been set, hut will
likely be held within the first two weeks of July.
Taylor said he was surprised to hear that both veteran Mohawk player
Barry Baynham and assistant manager John Pryde would he leaving to
serve as assistant coach and assistant general manager for the Hawks.
He said he had expected Mohawks coach Dave Revington would he try-
ing his hand as coach and general manager of the Junior 'D' team.
So the question remains, will Senior 'A' hockey in Exeter fold?
"It's possible," admitted Taylor. "It's got so expensive to run."
He also said it is tough to find players to put on the bench. Fans seem
to demand both top players, but local ones, "and there's not many local
players to compete in that calibre," said Taylor.
However, Taylor emphasized that the loss of Revington, Baynham
and Pryde didn't necessarily mean the end of the team.
The Mohawks executive were holding a meeting as of press time
Tuesday evening, and it was expected a large part of the discussion
would be how the move of three key team members to the Hawks
would affect the team.

camps
EXETER - The Ontario Soccer
Association, in co-operation with
Exeter Centennial Soccer Associa-
tion, has announced that the 16th
annual soccer camp program will
he held this summer at the Exeter
Community Park. The camp(s) are
scheduled for boys and girls ages
six to nine and 10 to 13, from July
4 to 8.
This low-cost instructional camp
is aimed at boys and girls, ages six
to 13 interested in learning and im-
proving upon their technical ability
and skills of the game. Team Onta-
rio coaches and nationally licensed
instructors along with professional
players and coaches make this the
number one development camp in
the province. Along with receiving
25 hours of high quality coaching,
each participant will receive an of-
ficial OS.A. Camp T-shirt and a
Certificate of Participation.

Exeter Fury take game 2-1

EXETER - Sunday, the Exeter Fury won a tight
game 2-1 over the London Albanians.
Pete McAllister sent Henri, DeBruyn in the clear
and DeBruyn picked the corner to give the Fury the
lead early in the game. After a scramble in front of
the Exeter net the Albanians poked the ball across the
line to tie the score.
The game stayed even with both teams having their
chances until DeBruyn got his second goal of the
game. DeBruyn found himself open after Ben Kline
gave him a good pass off of a free kick.
Earlier in the week the Fury hosted a League Cup
game against the London Hungarians, losing a well -
played game 4-1. The Hungarians, being a club
from the Premier division, showed god hall control
but the Fury stuck with them as the score was 1-0 at
the half.
The London team, with local talent Mark Lynn,
scored a couple of goals off scrambles from in close.
The Fury had chances hut could only manage the one
goal. DeBruyn made a nice run and was tripped in
the penalty area. He then made no mistake on the en-
suing penalty shot.
The Fury are playing on Sunday at the Canner's
field against one of the top teams in their division,
St. George's from London.
