The Association, now with more than 45 municipali- ties participating, opened the Grand Bend facility in mid 1989 to serve the 17 municipalities that at that time made up the Association. The Association quickly outgrew the Grand Bend facility through the constant addition of new mu- nicipalities and by collecting one of the largest variety of recyclable materials of any program in the province. The facility open house will give the general public the opportunity to tour the new facility, meet the Association employees and learn more about the benefits of back- yard composting.
