CLINTON - Students at schools
in Huron County might have Easter
Monday off this March after all.
Paul Carroll, director of the Hu-
ron. County Board of Education,
said a conflict has come about re-
garding Easter Monday being
changed to an instructional day for
students Ind staff in exchange for
unpaid leave days required under
the Social Contract..
But some unions linked with
county schools have Easter Mon-
day as a designated holiday in their
collective agreements.
The problem faced by the board
is that if they go ahead with their
original plan of having Easter Mott -
'day as a regttlar instructional day,
there would be no custodial, secre-
tarial or teacher support in the
schools.
That means students with special
needs would not be able to attend.
Trustees are concerned that labour
issues could keed some students
from attending 1 hoof.
