My name is Stacey Consitt. 1 am being good. Kim and
Kelly are my sisters and they are being good just] like I
am, because we want you to bring us a present. 1 want to
say Santa your reindeer names, Dancer, Prancer, Donner,
Dixon. My mommy is being good because she wants
presents too if that's ok with you. That's nice of you to
ask Grapa to be your helper at the Family Dance.
For C turas I would like earring magic Barbie,
handsome Aladdin and Jasmine. My
sister Kelly wants a dolly, a beauty
shop or workshop. Kimberly, well, she
is just a baby and can't talk so please
bring her a toy or something you think
she would like. Thank you Santa. We
love you Santa.

Decorating our Tree
By Danielle Cornelissen
Grade 5, McGillivray Centre
A few weeks before Christmas
we decorate our scotch pine Christ-
mas tree. Everyone helps. We use
multi -coloured lights and a bright
star on top. When we put the sil-
ver, blue and red balls on, we see
our faces in them. We like hanging
the homemade fans, wreaths and
mice in bare spots on the branches.
Then we place pinecones and
presents near the front. We put the
things on that we made at school
such as snowmen, birds, angels,
bears and tiny Santas. We loop sil-
ver garlands and tinsel over the
tips of the branches. On the gar-
land we hang red poinsettias to
make it look nicer. The last thing
we arrange are candy canes. Now
the tree is beautiful.
Christmas Eve
By Katelyti Squire
Grade 5, Biddulph School
The night before Christmas, my
family and I sit down in my living
room and talk about Christmas.
While we talk we eat shrimp. Then
we hang our stockings up and go
to sleep. We are excited to wake
up and find presents under the tree
with my name on it.
Merry Christmas to
Mom and Dad
By Tiffany Thompson
Grade 3, Exeter Public School
I wanted to make you a present
but I couldn't wrap it. So I gave it
to you without it being wrapped.
I wanted to make you a wreath
but I could riot nail it into the door.
So I made you a paper wreath in-
stead.
I wanted to make you a cookie
but they smashed all over the floor.
So I made some more.
I wanted to make you a star but I
could not cut through it. So I just
had to use the real star.

Merry ristmas to
mom
By Lori Hogan
Grade 3, Exeter Public School
I wanted to make you a nice din-
ner, but the oven was too hot.
So 1 made a piece of toast.
1 wanted to make you a ball for
Christmas, but it broke on the way
home from school.
So I tried to make you a paper
one.
1 wanted to make you a cake, but
when 1 tried it, it tasted like flour,
So I bought you one instead.
I wanted to make you a present,
but 1 could not find the tape. So I
used glue instead.

Christmas's was...
By Kevin Thompson
Mt. Carmel, Grade 7
...My Grandpa and Grandma
Thompson came over. I was won-
dering what they were doing. Then
when my Dad saw Grandpa and
Grandma come in he went down-
stairs in the woodroom and brought
up a box. He put the box in our liv-
ing room. He put his hand in the
box and pulled out artificial leaves.
Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa
were building a vee. When they
were done with the tree they put
decorations on it. On December 25
two days after my birthday there
were presents under the tree.
That was my first and best Christ-
mas.
Christmas Sounds
By Michelle Erb
Grade 7, Zurich Public
Hear the horses going through the
snow;
See the Christmas lights glowing
just so,
Hear the sleighbells jingle, jingle,
Wish I could meet old Kris Krin-
gle.
Lots of children, girls and boys,
Presents, presents filled with
toys.
Go on a horse and sleigh,
Mile after mile, day by day,
People come and people go,
Lining up toys, row on row.
Animals enjoy Christmas too,
Some think it's just for me and
you.
But Christmas is for everybody!

My Thoughts of
Christmas
By Heather Snell
Zurich P.S., Grade 7
Presents, that's a young child's
dream of Christen s. But as a child
gets older, they L.Don realize that
there is more to Christmas than re-
ceiving " presents. Christmas is
about being with friends and fami-
ly, giving and sharing.
A lot of children don't have the
privilege to be with friends and
family so receiving a present would
be their last concern.
Most of us take Christmas for
granted but I think it's important
that everyone realizes how fortu-
nate we are to be with family and
friends on Christmas.
Poot Me
By Bryan Stnekleas
Stephen Central P.S., Grade 6
On Christmas I woke up and saw a
piece of coal
1 hoped that's not what I got from
the North Pole
So I waited to see if Santa would
come
But I guess I got spanked too much
of the bum
So I went back to bed, to rest up
my head
Then I woke up, but Mom was still
in bed
So 1 went to tom on her alann
But then I tripped and broke my
ECM.

The Christmas Puppy
By Breeden Oke

It was the middle of the night. 1

went to the Christmas tree. 1 heard
another whimper and I saw a
present move. It said: To Brenden

So I opened it. I t was a puppy!
and it followed me upstairs. We
went to bed and then we woke up
and we went to my mom's room.
She said. "Ahhh." I never found out
who gave it to me.
