Blood donor
clinic meets
its target
EXETER - Last Tuesday the
Ausable River Nomads Camping
Club organized another successful
Blood Donor clinic.
A total of 257 units of blood were
collected by the Red Cross staff at
the clinic, passing the 200 unit quo-
ta. Blood is always needed and it's
the donors that make it available,
say the Nomads.
In 1994 the Red Cross will be
adding new procedures for blood
donations which includes the do-
nor's temperature and blood pres-
sure, also the donor's health assess-
ment questionnaire and interview
with the clinic nurse.
Both the Nomads and the Red
Cross were pleased with the turnout
and the next clinic will be held in
the spring of 1994.
Busy week at Queensway
HENSALL - There is no beuer way to start the week than by exercis-
ing.
The Hensall United Church Women were back to assist with bingo.
Congratulations to Ruth Church who set a record with Dight bingos.
On Tuesday, we were honoured with the presence of Rev. Miriam
Jones from the United Church. Rev. Jones is new to the area and we
are pleased to have her as one of our ministers for weekly church ser-
vices. The excitement reached a peak on Wednesday, as Queensway
Residents council held their annual Craft and Bake Sale. The ticidents
worked on many crafts and baked for the event.
Congratulations to Carol Gasho who won the draw of the beautiful
ivory afghan. Audrey VanWeiren donated the afghan, for which we
held a raffle.
Congratulations also goes out to Donna Turcou who won the pine
cone wreath, hand made 'by the residents. The afternoon was a great
success because of the volunteer Women's Auxiliary members who
helped immensely.
Also thanks to staff and the community for donations. Activities
were still in full force at the end of the week.
A balloon volleyball game took place on Thursday afternoon and
with great attendance.
During the evening, supper club members of this month had a pizza
