There will be a Hallowe'en (mas- querade) bowling party at the Town & Country Lanes on Saturday, Oc- tober 30th from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. For $7.00 person you can do all the bowling you want and have lots of fun at the same time. There will also be a costume par- ty at the Dominion Tavern on .Sat- urday night. Music will be provided by "Serious Business" for dancing. The Bank of Montreal in Zurich will be having a professional pho- tographer to take family pictures at their Branch on Wednesday, No- vember 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. As an appreciation gift for their valued customers an 8x10 colour picture will be received free. Phone the Bank at 236-4384 to make an appointment as soon as possible if interested. The Stratford and District Right to Life Annual Dinner meeting will be held on Thursday, November 4 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Stratford beginning at 6 p.m. Guest speaker is Jakki Jeffs. Tickets are $11.00 per person. You can phone Brenda Koehler at 262-2937 this week if wanting to go. Any seniors are welcome to go bowling at the Town and Country Lanes on Thursday at 2 p.m. (good exercise and fun at the same time.) Don't forget to attend the "Har- vest of Values" sales this Saturday, October 30th at the Zurich Men- nonite Church Hall from 9:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be something for everyone. All are welcome. Be sure an turn you clocks back one your before goingto bed on Saturday night, October 30th. Seven ladies, from St. Boniface (St. Joseph) attended the C.W.L. Regional Diocesan meeting held in Stratford last Wednesday October 20 which was very informative and interesting. It consisted of CWL • members from the Huron -Perth and Ingersoll Deanery. President Therese Loebach from Windsor chaired the meeting. It was nice to see Father Paul and Tom Mooney among other priests come and have lunch. Approximately 25 to 30 students of South Huron High School took part in a 30 hour famine at the school from Friday at 3:30 p.m. to Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The youth collected money though pledges to raise funds for World Vision. Most of their time was -spent watching video movies. A surprise "65th' birthday party was held for Ralph Smith on Satur- day, October 23 at St. Boniface par- ish hall which was given by his wife Audrey and their children. Approximately 70 people attend- ed from far and near for this happy occasion, being their five children and their families along with many relatives and friends who came from such places ad Toronto, Auro- ra, Bobcaygeon, Richmond Hill, Barrie, Minden and the Zurich area. A special surprise for everyone was the arrival of son, Tom and Daughter Jennifer from Edmonton who are spending a few days this week with his parents. Best wishes for. a -speedy mbov- ery are extended to Ceelle Melding- er due to a meant foot -operation and is now home in Least- recuper-ating. A birthday :party -and family '.get together was +heldat=-the -home of Julie and Mozart Gelinas Jr. on Saturday in honour of fher sister Theresa Davies of Laudon on -the occasion of her big "50" comingup p soon on November 2nd. Almost all of her sisters and brothers were present to help her celebrate! Ray and Rebecca Gemmeue from St. Claire Shores Michigan spent the weekend with her mother Nora Corriveau at the Spruce Villa Apts. and all attended'the party. John and Marilyn Geiger .:and sons spent last week m Ohio;at a Hese Show Competition. Happy 52nd anniversary wishes are extended to Tony and Adeline Denomme on October 25. Si , Golden Agers from Zurich spent the day in Londesboro last Wednesday at a senior citizens ral- ly. A nice spiritual weekend was had by 36 members of the Mennonite church last weekend from October 22 to 24. As a M.Y.F. Retreat was held at Conestoga Bible Camp (near Pal- merston) for the ages of 14-18 yr. old. Pasters Phil and Julie Gender gave the talks. Some adult sponsors also helped. A very good turnout was on hand to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the Emmanuel United Church in Zurich. St. Boniface CWL St. Boniface CWL held their monthly meeting followed by the living Rosary said in the church and a Communion Service given by Sister Susan. President Audrey Smith chaired the meeting. Mary Regier gave a scripture reading while Brenda Regier read the minutes of the last meeting. Invitations were received for our ladies to attend the Grand Opening of the new parish hall at Immacu- late Heart of Mary Church in Grand • Bend -on Tuesday, November 9th which begins with a pot luck sup- per at 6:30 p.m. If wanting to .attend phone Au- dreybefore October 30 to make ar- iangements. They werealsoinvited to attend the Mt. Carmel Bazaar held in Dashwood at the community centre (10-2 p.m.) on November 6 and a penny sale in Exeter by Precious Blood Church on November 3rd at 7 p.m. A letter was received from sister Lorena Ducharme in Peru. The bazaar will be held in the school gym on Saturday, Novem- ber 6 from 'OM to 310 p.m. There will also be a merchants ta- ble, and Harvest Table, so everyone can buy some homemade jams and preserves etc. Brenda Koehler gave a report on the "Chair Life" held recently in Stratford and about the White Rib- bon W.R.A.P. Campaign in our parish to protest against pornogra- phy. We were reminded about the par- ish harvest dance ( K of C) on Sat- urday, November 13th at the com- munity centre. $6.00 per person with lunch and everyone is wel- come. Alert the Media!
