It often occurs in moist and 'heavily shaded areas. Moss is lush, bright green, fine textured and low growing. The best Moss control is achieved by improving the lawn envi- ronment. Try to improve the sunlight intensity and air circulation by pruning trees. Fertilize the lawn properly to encourage the grass plants. It is very difficult for Moss to exist under -fertile con- ditions. • If Moss is a constant, serious problem is you lawn,.you may -wish to purchase a Moss control material. After the Moss control is applied and the Moss dies, the dead Moss should be raked up. Additional applications of Moss control can be repeated as nec- essary. Fertilizer and correct lawn maintenance practices are crit- ical when attempted when attempting to control Moss. Next Week: Whatis a Proper Mowing -Height.
