"People always seem to enjoy musicals", says director and drama teacher Glenda Burrell, "So that is one'of-the -reasons we chose the play. Aside form that, however Bring. Back Birdie is a very humor- ous took at what happens when children rebel against their parents and parents rebel against their role as parents." Bring Back Birdie is, in a sense, a sequel to Bye Bye Birdie although you don't have to have seen one to appreciate or understand the other. Twenty-five years have passed since Bye Bye Birdie and the -teen- agers from that play are now par- ents with teenaged children of their own in Bring Back Birdie.. The parents, Rose and Albert, go on a quest to bring back the rock star of the 60s, Conrad Birdie, who is pre- sumed dead. Meanwhile, their chil- dren, who are supposed to be stay- ing with relatives, are doing their own thing. Jenny, the daughter, runs off to join the Sunnies and Al- bert Jr., the son, becomes guitarist in a punk rock group called Filth. Over 100 students are involved in one capacity or another -i the mounting of this prorUon and from all indications;,,; y'P'(§ going to be a huge success, say ob- servers Presbyterian women meet EXETER - The Presbyterian Church Women met on March 8 with the opening hymn "This is My Father's World" Edna Simmons gave a paper en- titled "Again the Miracle" and Ma- bel Stanlake conducted a question- naire on names of Women of the Bible.
