GRANTON - Get well wishes
from the community to Florence
McRobert who suffered multiple
injuries in a car accident at Whalen
Corners on Monday, February 8
and has been confined to St. Marys
Memorial Hospital since that time.
Others in the car were her husband
Charlie McRobert and Emerson
and Mary Wallis who received mi-
nor injuries and were released from
hospital.
The Anglican parish bible.atudy
was held on Thursdayafternoon at
the home of Margaret Oakley when
the group viewed a video of the
Parables of Jesus.
At the St. Thomas' Anglican
church on Sunday, February 14,
Rev. Stephen Emery led the service
of Moming Prayer and his message
was about trusting in Jesus as the
cornerstone and not in material
things. The theme of the children's
focus was God's special creation.
At the Granton United Church on
Sunday, Russell Tousaw took
charge of the service in the absence
of Pastor Normalie Voakes. His
sermon was entitled "A Still Small
Voice" and the lessons were from
1st Kings 19 and Matthew 11. The
choir sang the anthem 'The Little
Brown Church'.
A number from the Granton area
attended events at the Winter Car-
nival held at the Kirkton-Woodham
Community Centre on the week-
end.

CENTRALIA - At the United
Church on Sunday, Rev. Geddes
chose as his topic "The Power of
Anger" with a Holy Communion
service. Following the service, the
Sunday School pupils and teachers
treated those present to a Poor Boy
luncheon. A good free will offering
was received and will go to support
the M & S Fund.
All young people 12 years and
older interested in exploring what
the United Church of Canada is all
about, and in the possibility of
Confirmation are invited to attend
a pizza party at Centralia church
next Strodaaty, .Edxuary 21 from 5
to 8 p.m.
Bible study will begin Monday,
February 22 at 8 p.m. in Centralia
United Church and run for seven
weeks during lent. Everyone wel-
come.
Prize winners at Heywood Res-
taurant euchre were Mary Kooy,
Ieleen Pullman, Mildred McDow-
ell, Gordon Eaton, Harry Noels,
Marg Cook. Next gathering is Feb-
ruary 22 at 2:30. We were very sor-
ry to hear that four of our regular
card players from Granton were in-
volved in a car accident while on
their way to the euchre on February
8. Florence McRoberts still re-
mains in hospital. We wish her a
speedy recovery.

HENSALL - The Volunteer Aux-
iliary held their monthly meeting
last Monday to discuss some activi-
ties and upcoming events. Monday
afternoon the ladies from Kippen
United Church visited and spon-
sored Monday afternoon bingo.
Reverend Philips from Varna
and Goshen United church cele-
brated the weekly church service.
Accompanying Rev. Phillips was
Marjorie Sterling on the organ.
Wednesday evening some resi-
dents enjoyed a Valentine's edition
of the monthly supper club. To cel-
ebrate the occasion, all she menu
items were red - tomato juice. spa-
ghetti with meat sauce and cherry
pie for dessert.
Some special guests came and
visited the residents on Thursday
evening to participate in a Valen-
tine craft. The Hensall Beavers
held their weekly meeting at
Queensway and each little Beaver
did a heart -shaped craft with one
resident. The craft included a pola-
roid picture of a Beaver and the
special friend with whom they
were working. The Seniors have a
wonderful Valentine Keepsake to
remind them of the Beavers' visit.
The Seniors provided heart -shaped
shortbread for the boys, which they
made at their Baking Club. A spe-
cial thanks is extended to the lead-
ers from the Heasall Beavers for
making their trip to Queensway
possible. Everyone enjoyed the
children's visit.
The week ended with a Valen-
tine's Tea on Sunday afternoon.
Everyone enjoyed fruit punch, cof-
fee, tea and sweets. The winner of
the candy dish full of hearts was
Martha Moody. She guessed the
exact number of candies in the
dish. Plenty of other prizes were
won by residents playing an elimi-
nation card game.

- EXETER -Four yearsago,di eeExeter-natives-wed
their musical talent and enthusiasm to create a new
band. Today they are Positively Stompin' and have ex-
panded to five members and a spot light on a moss -
Canada television broadcast_
Founding members, Ted Triebner, bad singer, gui-
tar; Murray Heywood, drums; and Chris Mittleholtz,
guitar, are all from Exeter. Shortly after their forma-
tion, Chris' brother, Jeff joined the band adding his
bass skills to their country/rock sound. The newest ad-
dition to Positively Stompin' is Jon Wood of London,
who has been playing guitar for the band for four
weeks.
According to Heywood, the band is enjoying many
gigs all over south-western Ontario including Toronto,
Kitchener -Waterloo, Hamilton, Oshawa, Cambridge
and London where they currently live.
Last week the band returned to Exeter for an exciting
opportunity that may give their talent Canada -wide rec-
ognition. CFPL-TV was on hand at the -Exeter Golf
and Country Club for the filming of a future broadcast
of Up & Coming, a series of four half-hour show that

"This summer we will be touring out east and west—
that goes along with a new album. We are also looking
at the possibilities of producing some videos," Hey-
wood explained, adding that they still have work to do
in the studio.
With their first album on the horizon, Positively
Stompin' is hoping to target Exeter for their record re-
lease party in April. Heywood said that the band will
probably be in town before that for a gig sometime in
March.
