New slate of officers
for Ailsa Craig UCW
AILSA CRAIG - The Christmas meeting of the Ailsa Craig United
Church Women and their guests began with a pot luck meal
After everyone had sampled the desserts, Beuy Sutherland and Donna
Cox conducted a sing -song of Christmas carols. Sylvia Thirlwall played
the piano. Then Katie Walker entertained with some piano solos. The
group all worked on a Christmas song contest. June McKay, Katie Walk-
er and Joanne Steeper knew the most songs and won the prizes.
Margaret Tweddle read two Christmas poems. Next Rhonda Yeo played
some piano solos. Everyone was happy to learn that Yeo had been among
the top five winners, when she participated in a contest, writing the music
and words for a Christmas Carol. Yeo received her award at Centennial
Hall in London recently. Yeo's last solo was the carol that she composed.
Margaret Wilson and Wilma McIntosh conducted a Christmas work-
shop service. Marguerite McRoberts brought greetings from the Middles-
ex Presbyterial. Marguerite is finishing her term as regional vice-president
for Middlesex North West. Everyone was pleased to learn that Margaret
Tweddle, the president of Ailsa Craig UCW, will be Marguerite's succes-
sor. The program concluded in a light-hearted way when June McKay
told the story of Prinderella.
Wilma McIntosh presented the slate of officers for 1993: past president,
Wilnia McIntosh, president, Margaret Tweddle, secretary Margaret wil-
son, assistant secretary and archivist Jean Maguire, treasurer Mary Scafe,
and social conveners Mary Sutherland and Yvette MacGregor.
