HENSALL - Sunday evening's session of volleyball for Hensall teenagers was pan of a continu- ing series of youth evenings sponsored by the Exeter OPP through their Community Oriented Policing (COP) pro - 11. Tom Richber, who is the town's COP officer, explains that Hensall, like many other communities in the area needs to foster a better understanding be- tween youth and police officers. A monthly program, which in- cludes volleyball, basketball and other activities is going a long way to improve relations. "It shows them the policeman is here to help them, not to hin- der them," said Richber. Local companies have also chipped in to give the program a boost. Sunday evening, for ex- ample, pop was donated by Pep- si Cola and pizzas by Pizza De- light. About 20-25 teens have been attending the evenings on a reg- ular basis. Eclipse today One of those rare celestial events may be visible to those in the dis- trict this afternoon. A total lunar eclipse, the blocking of the sun's rays on the moon by the earth, will begin this afternoon at 3:55 p.m. and should last until 9:32 p.m. This, of course, all depends on whether or not the moon is con- cealed behind cloud cover. In the evening hours, you may be able to see the peculiar orange glow a lunar eclipse often gives to the moon. A lunar eclipse is the opposite of a solar eclipse, in which the sun's rays arc blocked from the earth by the moon.
