lost a squeaker, 8-6. The game was part of the Third Annual
peter and District Ringette Association Tournament.

HENSALL - What an outstand-
ing weekend for the Exeter and
District. Ringette Association.
At their Thud Annual Tourna-
ment which was played in both
Hensall and at the South Huron
Recreation Centre in Exeter, the
hosts won a gold, sifver.and bronze
medal.
In the finals on Sunday, the nov-
ices were beaten 10-2 by a strong
Chatham team but for Exeter it still
meant the silver medal after they
had won a pair of games in pool
Play.

the eight -team petite division,
�B:reter beat Cambridge- 8-5 to win
the consolation title and capwre the
bronze medal.
Jost=a couple of hours after that
-game-was' over, the Exeter Tweens
made . a . clo an sweep as they won
their fourth -game of the weekend, a
thrilling 6-5 win over Ripley to win
the gold medal.
Twee s tough: With just six sec-
onds left in -regulation time, Melis-
sa Hayter scored die winning goal
to send. a Jtlfge -cheer throughout
the Heath -Mata.
It was her second goal of *the
,:game while Sara Szabo, Becky
Wuerth, Sara Mosnsinjohn and
Kelly Regier .also scarred for the
winners.

Fsxeoer beat Ripley 4.2 in their final
pool play game in Exeter. -Hayter,
Megan Raiz, Szabo -and Regier

Hayter, Mosurinjohn all had two
goals each in a 7-4 win over Wal-

Goalie Cathleen Chappel played
well throughout the tournament.

nal. Krista Dayman and Stacey
Snow also scored far Exeter.
Exeter opened the tournament
with a 9-4 win over Goderich as
Stecink had four goals and an assist
while Kelly Miners had a great
game with two goals and four as-
sists. Dayman had two, goals with
the other from Amanda Wuerth.
In the second game, Chatham
beat Exeter 9-5 as Steciuk had
three goals with one each from
Dayman and Snow.
The local novices had no trouble
with Ripley, winning big, 21-1. Ro-
byn Etherington hadfour goals and
four assists while Dayman had four
goals and three assists.
Steciuk and Wuerth had three
goals each while Snow and Miner
each fired two with one each from
Heather Morgan and Jessica Da-
vies.
Bronze tor petites: Exeter beat
Cambridge 8-5 to win the bronze
medal in the eight -team petite divi-
sion.
Tracy Wilson led the way, with
three goals while, .Dawn Corbett
netted two -and •Alicia Lawrence
and Sarah Webber each had one.
Exeter opened the tournament
with a 7-3 win over Po est as Law-
rence had three goals, Corbett
scored twiceand Wilson and Jacyln
Baynbam also scored.
Ann Marie Parsons and Wilson
scored three goals each in -a9-1 win
over -Lambeth. Lawrence had two
baties.and Webber added the other.
Lawrance had four against Dor-
:chester in a 12-1 win as Lauryn
_Baynham and Corbett each scored
-twice with on each from Wilson,
Webber and Kim Keller.
Juniors win one: In the junior
division, Exeter unfortunately did
not do as well as they had hoped as
they lost to Walkerton and Forest
.but beat
Against Walkerton, Amy Ed-
wards had three goals in n 8-4 loss
with the other to Heather 'Davies.
Davies and Teresa Stire scored in a
6-2 loss to Forest.
Shawna Rowe and Davies had

The bunnies were beaten 6-4 by
Seaforth. Chantelle Elder had two
goals and an assist for Exeter while
Amber Preszcator and Denise
Ritchie each had a goal and an as-
sist.
