end camping with their families at
Chesley Lake.
Retreat
A very interesting three day
"Women's Aglow Retreat" was at-
tended by many ladies from the Zu-
rich area recently that was held at
Centralia College with well known
speaker Matilda Kipfer and daugh-
ter Mary -Jane Bevan from New
York.
Sound of Music
Don't miss seeing "The Found of
Music" at the Huron Country. Play-
house.
The cast did a great job and was
especially nice to see some Zurich
people in the play from Zurich in-
cluding sisters Stephanie and Ash-
ley Erb along with their mother
Laurie Erb; and Harriet Vander -
burg[.
Bean Festival
The next bean festival meeting
will be held tonight at 7:00 p.m. in
the Bean Festival kitchen. President
Doug McBeath will chair the meet-
ing and everyone is welcome to at-
tend.
Graduation
Jack and Sandy Stephan recently
attended the graduation of their
daughter Kristin .at McGill Univer
sity in Montreal. She received her
B.A. in English Language and Lit.
erature.

Bob and Carol Johnston 5prot thy
weekend away and whun rolutn',;
home on Sunday were surprised to
see that someone was busy putting
up "Happy 50th Birthday" signs on
the porch and trees for Carol whose
birthday was on Friday. June 19.
New store
Has everyone noticed the new
craft shop in town (at the former
Kalbfleisch Mill)? It's called the
"Treasure Chest" and is open in the
afternoon.

Well the kids will be out oil
school on Wednesday for their;
summer holidays and lots of things
are being planned for them. Prereg-
istered baseball games will start
Thursday at 7-8 pm. at the public
school ball diamond for T -ball and
5 -pitch.
Then registration for playground
activities and swimming lessons
will be held at the arena on Mon-
day from 7-9 p.m. Leaders are Car-
olyn Love and Colleen Keller.
Also the library lwtll ti having a
summer reading program which be-
gins on Thursday, July 9, once a
week to August 6 from 1-2 p.m.,
for children 5-10 gears old. Phone

Picnic
The Kindergarten children at St.
Boniface school had a Teddy Bear
Picnic on Tuesday -while the reside
eight students recently went on a
bus trip to Detroit and various plac-
es, and had their end -of -the -year
graduation dance on Friday night.
Their graduation ceremony was
held on Tuesday night.
Graduation for the Bean Sprout
Nursery school will be held at the
public school on Thursday.
Workshop
Idella Gabel of Zurich and There-
sa McCann of Mt. Carmel attended
a church organist workshop in Lon-
don on Saturday at Westmount
Presbyterian Church.
Anniversary
Congratulations to Ed and Dom -
thy who recently celebrated their
30th wedding anniversary on June
9.
Jerome and Carmel Sweeney cel-
ebrated their 30th anniversary on
Tuesday, June 23. Daughter, Heath-
er and husband Paul Klopp cele-
brated their -eighth anniversary, the
same day.
Also happy -anniversary to Ken
and Dorothy Breakey on the 24th
and Ken's birthday on the 26th.
Also best wishes to Doug Klopp
whose birthday is on June 25. •

June 10 with a good attendance.

opened the meeting with prayer.
