The Diamonds, a group promoting handicapped accessibility
in Huron County, presented their very first certificate of partici-
pation to the Royal Bank in Exeter last week in recognition of
the buildings wide aisles, accessible doors, and public wash-
rooms. "We have to get people to realize that if we can't get
into your facility, we can't shop there or bank there," said
Glen McLaughlan (front right):. Beside him is the Diamonds
other co-chairman Ron Airdrie. Behind are bank representa-
tives Brent Wilson, Sandra Reinhardt, and Curt Cooper.

THAMES ROAD - On Monday
June 8, -the Usborne II 4-H club, A
Walk on the Wild Side, met at the
Thames Road church and travelled
to the gravel pit nearby. When they
gc• there, they observed the many
swallows. Leader Karen Ethering-
ton explained that the swallows
make holes in the sand cliffs for
their houses. The club saw ponds
and in them were frogs, bloodsuck-
. ers, minnows and crayfish. After
boiling for other signs of animal
life, the group stopped in a clearing
and recited the 4H pledge. The sec-
retary did the roll call and all an-
swered with the name of the most
interesting animal each had seen in
the past week. Etherington had the
group recline and observe wild life
around thein as she asked some
guestiutts about what they saw. The
meeting concluded with a snack at
the churchland was adjourned.
