1992 Sarnia/Lambtofl travel guide
SARNIA - The new Tourism
Guide for Lambton County in 1992
will include a special section for
North Lambton as part of its re-
vamped format.
For the past four years, the Sar-
nia/Lambton Economic Develop-
ment Commission has produced a
calendar format for its tourist
guide, focusing largely on spe.ciaf
events and breaking down the tour-
ism promotion into monthly list-
ings.
This coming year a new format
has been created, recognising the
three tourism regions of Lantbton
County - North Lantbton, the Oil
Heritage District and Sarnia south
along the St. Clair Parkway.
"What 1 think wc'vc accom-
plished is that we ve demonstrated
more thoroughly the diversity of
the tourism industry in North
Lambton County," said Phil
Winch, the Sarnia/Lambton .Eco-
nomic Development Commission's
Tourism Director.
The colour coding applies to all
seven information charts, highlight-
ing everything from camping and
golfing to fishing and boating.
North Lambton attractions are cov-
ered in a green colour, and where
graphs aren't used, a green square is
placed beside any attraction located
north of Highway 0402.and east of
Sarnia.
The Travel Guide also added sev-
eral new features thisyear to high-
light natural attractions m the area.
A pick -your -own fruit listing was
created, a small section of shopping
was added, a "fun for the fancily"
double spread lists items that young
and old alike can enjoy. a brief de-
sc ipIAon o(all mecums was incor-
porated into the book pad finally a

fishing section was also inserted,
complete with a map showing
where you can find different types
of fish. Special events were also
separated into regional districts,
making it easier for the visitors to.
find out what's going on during
their stay.
Total_ -printing of the guides is
80,000 with distribution at travel
shows in Southwestern Ontario,
• Miehigftn and other states where lo -
Cal representatives are selling
Lantbton,County, as well as at tour-
ism centres and through mailings
responding to advertisements.
Winch noted this year's guide
will require only minor changes
from year to year, .creating a cost
effective brochure for coming tour-
ism seasons.
