exists through your generosity
"Without the help of the Huron
County Christmas Bureau, my two
year old son would not have known
a Christmas. Now i am in a posi-
tion to give to someone else."
A former recipient of the Huron
County Christmas Bureau
GODERICH -
r The Huron
County Christ-
mas Bureau has
been sponsored
by the Children's
Aid Society of
Huron County
for thirty years.
It exists through the generosity of
the people and businesses of Huron
County.
In 1990, this community service
provided help to 384 families and
835 children in Huron County.
It is a private and confidential
service designed to preserve the
dignity of less fortunate members
of our community. Families requir-
ing assistance are referred by many
agencies, professionals and individ-
uals throughout the county.
The Christmas Bureau operates
in a network of churches in five
county towns: Seaforth, Exeter,
Goderich, Clinton and Wingham. It
provides a location for individuals
to make donations of money, new
clothing and toys and canned goods
for Bureau clients.
After the donations are received
families are given a confidential ap-
pointment with the Bureau in their
area and are assisted in selecting
toys, items of clothing and mittens
for the children. They are also giv-
en canned goods and financial help
for Christmas dinner, if required.
Financial contributions can be
made at any time to the Children's
Aid Society of Huron County, 46

CENTRALIA - Fred Bowden and his wife Aurelia were recent guests of
their family for dinner at Heywood's restaurant to celebrate their 62nd

provided for income tax purposes.
This year, the Huron County
Christmas Bureau will be accepting
item donations during the week of
December 9 to 13.
In this time of recession and
hardship in Huron County, it is
their hope that individuals will sup-
port this "necessary and deeply ap-
preciated endeavour."
The volunteers who give of them-
selves and their time in order to or-
ganize this project tell of the re-
wards in knowing they have
contributed to ensuring a special
and happy Christmas for others.
This year in Exeter the Christmas
Bureau will once again be operated
from Trivitt Memorial Anglican
Church under the supervision of
Jan Ingram.
