Two big tournaments this weekend
LUCAN - The 19th Annual Lu -
can Leprechaun Atom Tournament
is this weekend with games begin-
ning Friday night and wrapping up
with the championship games on
Sunday.
Opening games have Lucan go-
ing against Stratford at, 6 p.m. fol-
lowed by Mt. Brydgcs against Dor-
chester. On Saturday, Parkhill faces
West London, Par+olia against Pt.
Edward and Bert Robinson against
Pickering.
Big ringette tournament
HENSALL - Teams from across
Ontario will be in Hensall and Ex-
eter for the annual ringette towna-
mei%
Friday night at the Hensall Are-
na, the local juniors take on Mitch-
ell while at 8:30 p.m. followed by
the local belles taking on Mitchell
as well.
Other opening round games for
Exeter teams will put the novices
against London at 9 a.m.; the pe-
tites play Lambeth at 10 a.m. and at
11 a.m. Exeter tweens take on
Guelph. Finals begin Sunday at the

Hayter's rink tops
EXETER - On Saturday, Bob
Hayter's rink which included Alex
Townsend, Paul Farquhar and Cord
Gross beat Seaforth to win the Ra-
mada Challenge regional bonspiel.
They beat Seaforth in their first
game, it took an extra end to elimi-
nate Ilderton than in the third game
took London CC in two extra ends.
Hayter's rink, representing the
Vanastra Curling Club now heads
to Toronto for the finals.
Molting Hawks win two, tie one
EXETER - The Exeter Molting
Nflwks won two Oldtimers hockey
games and tied once.
They edged Andy Old Wrecks's
5-3 as Randy Gilfiilan and Ernie
Ahrens each scored twice with the
other to Terry Bourne. Exeter beat
London Road Apples 12-3 as Gil-
fillan had a hat trick, Ron Moore
and Ken Bergmann had two each
with singles to Bob Parsons, Bob
Jones, Bourne, Bob McDonald and
Mike Desjardine.
In a 4-4 tie with the Grand Bend
Mariners, Murray Little, Ahrens,
McDonald and Brian Hodgins
scored.
At the Great Lakes Tournament,
Exeter lost 3-2 to Simcoe County in
the semi-final.
They beat Port Elgin 10-3, han-
dled Clinton 6-1 but were blanked
3-0 by Woodstock.
