EXETER - The Town Police
have confirmed the Kid Check pro-
gram is set for Saturday November
23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Exeter
Public School.
The program, operated by Child
Find of Huron County, is aimed at
creating records which could be ac-
cessed by police and other law en-
forcement agencies in the case of
missing children.
Parents can bring in children of
any age to take advantage of the
program. They will receive a pack-
age of forms they can fill out with
detailed information about their
child. Children must be accompa-
nied by a parent in order to be fin-
gerprinted. The resulting informa-
tion is kept at home, but can be—
released to police should a child go,
missing.
Children under two years of age
will have their feet printed. Chil-
dren over two will have their hands
printed.
Police chief Jack Harkness said
the package is ideal in the event of
a missing child emergency because
distraught parents will be able to
provide police with. information
and details they may not otherwise
remember at a time of crisis.
Harkness said he isn't sure how
many Huron County parents will
bring in their children to take part
in the program, but he said its intro-
duction is timely in light of the
summer 1990 attempted abduction
of a six-year old girl in town and
the recent abduction investigated
-and by police last month.
Kid Check is open to all children
in the Exeter area.
To the Voters of
Stephen Township
A very sincere
THANK YOU
for all your support.
Congratulations to the
new council
