DASHWOOD - Dashwood Zion
Ltithetan Ladies Guild held their
knonthly meting. Pastor Larry Stoj-
iCovic opened with devotions and
the hymns, Take time to be Holy
;and Take my li'e and let it be.
The guest speaker, Judy Dougall
demonstrated the art of glass etch-
ing and showed many of her beau-
iiful pieces.
Christmas secret pals gifts ex-
thange will be held December 10.

Idella Gabel.
Carol Zimmer announced the fol-
bwing door prize winners of the
craft show and sale in Dashwood
Wednesday and Thursday.

International Festival
The International Festival was
held Saturday night at the Dash-
wood community centre with the
menu of International savour tick-
ling the taste buds of over 210 peo-
ple. The Haggis from Scotland car-
ried by Jack Riddell was piped in
by Carl Mills after which he gave
the address to the Haggis.
Master of Ceremonies, Jack Rid-
dell narrated a history of how the
Stewards committee thought of this
special event, this area having resi-
dents from all parts of the world
Erich and Kaethe Freiter began
the program with the traditional
German polka.
Jack Riddell sang J$s$ a Week
Deoch an Doris accompanied at the
piano by Idella Gabel. U.S. New
Orleans Jazz dance was performed
by Jennifer, Amanda Weigand and
Lisa Moriock and the also did a tap
dance number.
The story of St. Nickolas from
the Netherlands was narrated by
Bert and Tina Visscher, Harmony
and Marianne.
The silent auction items were an-
nounced during the evening while
gentlemen from the area, George
Baxter, Ellwood • Truemner, Don
Webster and Stan Haist played
their trumpets accompanied on the
organ by Jack Geiser and at the pia-
no by Bernice Boyle.
The Never -Never land was repre-
sented by two whistling dwarfs,
Bill Hoffman and Michael Tieman.
Dashwood interpretation of the
Dance of the Swans from the Rus-
sians - Swan Lake was performed
Hungary was represented by so-
loist Beverley Carruthers singing
Tune they Fiddle Gypsy with a gyp-
sy in the background, Karen Tie -
man, telling the fortune of her cus-
tomer Ginger Weber.
Direct from South Africa, Anita
Riddell recited a poem Amakeia in
her native tongue.
The grand finale came from
France with four beautiful Can Can
dancers dressed in authentic cos-
tumes made by Mary Weber_and
Karen Tieman. The brave - dancers
were Bill Weber, Chuck Ford, Bill
Wagner and Jim Hoffman. They
are open for bookings.
Whistling dwarfs from Never Never Land were part of the en-
_tinment for Saturday's International Festival sponsored by
the Dashwood United Church. The whistlers were Mike Tie,
m8n and Bill Hoffman.
