Emery dedicated the ceiling fans in the church which were giv- en by Elsie Walz of Stratford in memory of her parents. At the Granton United Church on Sunday, Pastor Normalie Voakes' message was about "R for Fear". Flowers were placed in the church from the funeral of Clayton Lang- ford. The annual beef supper was held Wednesday evening at the Granton United Church. Get well wishes are extended to Avis Kilpatrick who is a patient in Victoria Hospital, Westminster Campus, recovering following sur- gery last w`eot:- Granton area people enjoyed the craft show at the Lucan Communi- ty Centre on the weekend. A Spaghetti Supper for Commu- nity Outreach was sponsored by St. Paul's Anglican church in Kirkton and attended by many from St. Thomas Anglican church. Remembrance service A Remembrance Day service was conducted by members of the Lu - can Legion Branch 540 at the Gran- ton Cenotaph last Tuesday. Pastor Normalie Voakes spoke briefly on remembering and led in Prayer. The Province of Ontario wreath was laid by Pat Nunn, representing M.P.P. Irene Mathyssen; the Gran- ton United Church wreath by Flor- ence McRoberts the Legion Ladies' Auxiliary by Sandra Melvin; the Unknown Soldier by Ann Craig; Lucan legion by Jock Holland; and World War 1 and I1 and Korea by Tim Carter. Doors will open at 8:30 with dancing from 10- 2 a.m. The 50s and 60s music will be by Nightwind. Tickets are 815 per person including hats, horns and a buffet lunch at midnight. Cecilia Farwell gave the re- ports. Verda Baechler read two poems and happy birthday was sung to Da O'Rourke and Harvey Hayter. Senior diners The Zurich Senior Diners met Wednesday at the community cen- tre. Tammy Antaya read two poems as did Gerrie Fleischauer. Lloyd Otterbein played guitar and harp treating the diners to many old familiar songs. Sew special Door prize winners at the recent Sew Special Craft Show have been announced. The winner of a ce- ramic poinsetta was Charlene Overholt while a ceramic Santa fig- urine was won by Patty Groot. Zurkh optimists The Zurich optimists will be meeting at the Hay Township hall Wednesday, November 20 at 7 p.m. Anyone/ interested in supporting the youth of the community in worthwhile projects is invited to at- tend. Festival dinner The annual Bean Festival appre- ciation dinner was held Sunday at the Dominion Tavern with over 70 people in attendance. President Doug McBeath held a short busi- ness meeting and elections were held for next year's committee. Right to life Fourteen members of St. Boni- face parish travelled to Stratford last week to attend the Right to Life dinner meeting held at the Knights of Columbus hall. Guest speaker was. Joe Scheidler from the United States League for Life. Brownies The brownies held their enrol- ment night Tuesday at St. Boniface school. On November 26 the brownies will be hosting a Tupper- ware fund raising party at 6:45 p.m. The event will be held in the school gym and to place an order, please call Deb Overholt at 236- 4700.
