of Community Living Convention,
held this year in the Muskoka re-
gion. The sessions were based at
Claavelands House Resort, opening
with a Parents Day conference on
Wednesday, May 29 and closing
Saturday afternoon with a general

in the O.F.S.A.A. regional track
and field competition held in Kitch-

Bryan competed in the 4x100 Jr.
Girls relay, Katie Malone placed
fourth in the Jr. Girls 80 m. hurdles,
high jump and 4x100 m. relay,
Becky Bryan placed first in Senior
Girls 100 m. hurdles, fourth in the
relay and also competed in the high
jump and 200 m. dash.
Brett Harlton competed in Jr.
Boys 100 m. hurdles (2nd) and
4x100 m. relay. They have all qual-
ified to compete atthe O.F.S.A.A.

O.F.S.A.A. Track and Field meet
held in Sudbury over the weekend.
Becky Bryan came third to win a
bronze medal in the senior girls 100
m. hurdles, with a personal best
time of 14.71 seconds. She also
ranked sixth in the senior girls high
jump:.•
Katie Malone, of Whalen Corners
ran a personal best time of 12.5 sec-
onds in the junior girls 80 m. hur-
dles. Katie, along with Becky
Bryan and their team mates also
placed ninth in their 4x100 senior
girls relay. Brett Harlton ran a fast
heat in the junior boys 110 m. hur-
dles, placing ninth with a time of
15.15 seconds.
Granton W.I. members planted
flowers at the cenotaph Wednesday
evening.
The Bryan family picnic was held
at the Park Pavilion on Sunday af-
ternoon. President Jeffrey Bryan
conducted business. Margaret
Bryan was secretary and Bill and
Cindy Aimcrs, Erin and Adam
were in charge of games. Bruce Ar-
nold of Windsor was elected presi-
dent for next year and plans were
made to hold the picnic at Granton

GRAND BEND - Grand Bend
Legion Branch #498 sponsored a
golf tournament on Saturday at
Bayview Golf Course. There was
quite a crowd of enthusiastic golf-
ers and lots of prizes awarded at the
end of an enjoyable day.
There was also a good crowd out
for the Friday Meat Raffle. Win-
ners were: Jim Smith and Dennis
Hartle, Remi VanPraet and Betty
Wagner, Mary Tate and Betty Mar-
tindale, Marjorie Monteith and
Wymny Kerr, Jack Chambers and
Ira Duncan. Peter Bruce won the
Mystery Prize. Brian Hitchcock
was the winner of the 50/50 draw al
the Saturday Jam Session.
On Saturday, Bob and Mary Hed-
ley celebrated their 50th Wedding
Anniversary with a dinner, dance
and open house at the Legion. Over
120 relatives and friends attended
to honour the couple on this special
occasion.
The next General Meeting will be
June 17 at 8 p.m. and all members
are asked to attend.
