Grand Bend council asked
to block condom store
GRAND BEND - There will be
a new business in Grand Bend the
first holiday weekend.
On Monday, John Kelly of the
Condomery in London, said he
will be opening a store at the cor-
ner of Main and Huron streets. His
London store specializes in con-
doms and the possibilityof his
store coming to Grand Bend has
already been met with a disfavour -
able response.
Wednesday night, Grand Bend
council received a letter from Bar-
ry Strong indicating his displeas-
ure about a recent Windsor Star ar-
ticle which said the Condomery
could be setting up in the resort
community this summer.
Strong "demanded" the village
prevent this store frau Doming in,
and counclllor BiU Uniac agreed
something should be done.
"It's not the type of business we
should be encouraging. I think it's a
bad reflection on our society," said
Uniac.
Council requested clerk -treasurer
Paul Turnbull to see if there was •
any restrictions on this business
coming to Grand Bend.
, "Is there no limitation of what
kind of business can set up,"? asked
Uniac. 'Td be interested to know
what limitations are available."
Turnbull later said there were no
restrictions.
