Holy Communion service held

SAINTSBURY - The service of
Holy Communion was held at Si
Patrick's on Sunday at 11 a.m. with
Nadene Bedell reading the lessons

Golden Agers increase membership

GRAND BEND - Thirty-nine
Golden Agers were out last
Wednesday afternoon for their
monthly meeting at Grand Bend
Legion Hall. President Ron Dann
presided.
More new members were wel-
comed bringing membership up to
more than 80.
Far the May meeting a 5:30 din-
ner is planned, followed by a
dance.
Happy Birthday was sung for
March celebrants. One of these was
Olive Webb, 85 years young and
one of our regular bowlers.
In our recreation time we played
euchre and solo and shuffleboard
games. Being St. Patrick's month,
our lunch tables were beautifully
decorated with green candles and
serviettes.
The Seniors' euchre party will be
held at the Legion hall in Grand
Bend, March 13. All area Seniors
welcome. Small admittance fee.
The Golden Agers planned bus
trip for March is filled, but there
are still some seats'available for the
bus trip April 16, to the Si Law-
rence Arts Centre in Toronto to see
the musical The Dream Land fea-
turing music of the 30's. Anyone in-
terested phone 238-2948.

With Pastor Colin Stover away
on holiday and study leave, the ser-
vice was conducted by Rev. Gor-
don Kurtz, of Bayfield, Sunday
morning. Rev. Kurtz is a retired
minister, who was a Baptist pastor
in U.S. from 1952-1985, serving in
New Jersey, Rochester, N.Y. and ,
Louisberg, Pennsylvania. His ser-
mon topic was titled, On loving the
world. His stay to the children was
demonstrated with a tape measure,
pertaining to God's love.
The choral choir anthem was the
lovely Old Rugged Cross. Scripture
lessons were read from 1 John 2:15
and 3:11-18 and from John 3:14-
21.
