Potluck dinner held for seniors
LUCAN - A potluck dinner was
held on the first Thursday of
March in the Lucan Scout Hall for
the seniors.
The meeting opened with Gor-
don Clubb as acting chair because
Dan Gibson was unable to attend.
Mary Davis played the anthem.
Jean Hodgins said the Blood Do -
not Clinic will be held on April 4.
She made a motion to donate a
pound of coffee. The motion was
seconded by Helen MacDonald and
paw.
Jim Davis gave a report on shuf-
fleboard and Harry Noels reported
on the Tri County Games.
Jean Miller gave the monthly
treasurer's report.
The meeting adjourned for eu-
chre, cribbage and crafts.

CENTRALIA - A Walk on the
Wild Side was Pastor Jeannie
Udall's topic of discussion at the
United Church last Sunday.
Special music was provided by
the senior choir. This coming
week a Bible Study will be held at
Lois Wilson's home on Prince Al-
fred Street at 7:30 p.m.
Choir practice will be held at 7
p.m. on Thursday. An Open House
will be held in the Church Hall
from 2 to 5 p.m. to celebrate Mari-
on Deline's birthday.
Next Sunday, St. Patrick's Day
will be celebrated with the Green
Jugglers at the Sunday School.
Friends and relatives from the
vicinity who attended the funeral
of the late Marion (Neil) Penward-
en in Samia on Wednesday were
Mr. and Mrs. Stan Hicks, Donald
Edery, Helen MacDonald, Howard
Dolan and Mary Kooy.
Marion was born 88 years ago in
Centralia. She lived in • the village
until 1951 and then moved to Sar-
nia with her husband Fred., Marion
was the organist at Centralia Unit-
ed Church for many years.

Donald and Lloyd Durr, low score
- Kay Armstrong and Bev Hamil-
ton. The next euchre tourney will
take place at 8 p.m. on March 18.
