AIRRIMIRPRINIRIORIRIIROMMIC By Roberta Walker GRAND BEND - Teamwork and an exciting spirit of cooperation has enabled several groups to organize a new program for teaching parenting skills in Huron County. Beginning on April 8, S.T.E.P. (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) will be taught at the Women Today House in Clinton. The sessions will be hosted on Monday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They will provide a certificate with no fee for training. The service is supported by Hu- ron -Perth Centre for Children and Youth, the Public Health Unit, Childreach, Private Home Day Care and teachers to jointly sponsor this exciting pilot project. Six more sessions would be taught in the fall completing the course linking trainees to cooperate with service clubs in their area. If these trained people can return to their communities to teach oth- ers with the continued support of the sponsoring agencies, there could be a positive ripple effect of good parenting in Huron County, This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to your community. Elbow ball - While it looks as though the ball was balancing on this boy's elbow, he was really caught up in a heated game of 'guard the pin.' There were 10 teams and 101 boys and leaders at the Chris- tian Service Brigade Sports Day on Saturday at the South Huron Dis- trict High School in Exeter. The Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle host- ed osted the event. ORAIG IIARDWOODS LTD.
