The locals opened their first set
against Tillsonburg and were dis-
appointed as they did not over-
power the Gemini's, losing two
games, 6-15 and 7-15.
Their next opponents were
Lambton Central and the Panthers
were again let down by scores of
13-15 and 8-15, however, South
Huron played a very tough first
game and shook up their rivals,
coming back from an 11-4 deficit
to make things close.
The next set was also discourag-

against hosting Sarnia Collegiate
by scores of 14-16 and 10-15.

afternoon.
After winning the of the
best -of -three aeries 4-3 Tues-
day in Clinton, the Redmen
downed the South Huron Panthers
5-2 in game two at the South Hu-
ron Recreation Centre.
The Redmen stopped Wingham
Madill's streak of four consecutive
Huron -Penh titles. They advance
to WOSSA in a three team round-
robin format with representatives
from Lambton County and Lon-
don.
Monday, Clinton beat London
CCH 4-2.
Wednesday in Exeter, the two
teams battled to a scoreless first
period before Curtis McCone
scored on a two -on -one and put
the Redmen on the board.
The visitors continued to domi-
nate as McCone put one into the
to a open net and Nate Burns walked
right in to make it 3-0. Jason
Boughen gave the Redmen a four
goal cushion before South Huron
got their offense rolling.
"Lately we've had trouble holding
the hard," said Central Huron coach
Jeff Reaburn. But the Redmen, who
knocked off Madill, held on to their
lead and allowed just two South
Huron goals.
Jamie Cornish put a fancy move
on the defenseman before flipping
it high into the Redmen net to wrap
up the scoring in the second period.
In the third frame, Central Huron
took advantage of a powerplay and
McCone gtrick. Brian
ot
Gardner knocked in knthe rebound
from a Paul Dickert shot for the
second Panthers' goal.
Although McCone dominated the
winners' offense, Reaburn said it
was a team win.
"This is a real team effort, we
don't have any stars," he said.
Reaburn said the Redmen real-
ized the Panthers wouldn't be a
pushover.
- "We were ready for a longer se-
ries, we thought it would be close."
South Huron had lots of chances
in the third period but just couldn't
connect. ' and Metal
shoved it across the line but the re-
faces blew the play dead.
