Safety a priority
CLINTON - The safety of farm
family members and employees is a
first priority for all farmers who use
pesticides. Quite often more than
onefamily member comes in con-
tact with the pesticides used in the
farm operation.
Family members or the farm em-
ployees may handle containers dur-
ing loading and transportation to
the farm storage arca. Measuring,
mixing and application require cau-
tion. Proper laundering of work
clothes and the supervision of chil-
dren playing on the farm are also
important activities.
Safe handling and application of
pesticides, protective clothing and
equipment, transportation and stor-
age, and environmental concerns are
some of the topics which will be
covered in this one -day course.
For just 535.00 you get a refer-
ence manual and the opportunity to
qualify for a certificate (of achieve-
ment). This fee is payable to the
course leader on the day of the
course.
A variety of dates, times and loca-
tions have been arranged. Contact
your local fertilizer or pesticide
dealer, or the O.M.A.F. office to
obtain dates of courses. Act now
and reserve your opportunity.
