South Huron WI meets in Hensall
HENSALL - President Marion
Dougall welcomed representatives
from all eight Branches of the Hu-
ron South Womens Institutes to a
meeting in the Fellowship Hall of
Hensall United Church. Represen-
tatives in turn introduced them-
selves.
Zurich WI
ZURICH - The Zurich Women's
Institute met for their monthly
meeting, Monday November 6 in
the Hay Twp. Hall, Zurich. A short
observance for Remembrance Day
followed.
Jayne Westlake entertained the la-
dies with two piano numbers.
The monthly group gave a very
informative topic on Canadian In-
dustries, including all the provinc-
es.
The 4 H girls under the leader-
ship of Sylvia Neeb and Mrs. Brid-
get Groot served the ladies a very
tasty lunch prepared by the girls.
The executive then continued the
monthly meeting and business.
Mrs. Ina Neeb gave the report .of
the District Convention held at
Embro. Roll call, recognition of
one member's birthday followed.
Graduate - Mary Lou Malone re-
ceived a Bachelor of Arts de-
gree from the University _of
Western Ontario at the Fall Con-
-vocation on October 26, 1989.

low W.I. names for Bed_and Break-
fast accommodation December 6,
1989 Christmas will be at the Er -
land Lee Home.
The Agriculture kits for the
schools have been repaired and sent
back to the schools.
The District Annual will be held
May 17, 1990 in Zurich.
We have been asked to cater to
the Sportsmen's Dinner on Febru-
ary 6, 1990. The former committee
will be in charge once again.

Cenotaph ceremony at Granton

GRANTON - Members of the
Lucan Legion, conducted a short
service at the cenotaph on Saturday
at 12:00.
The Province of Ontario wreath
was laid by W.I. president Muriel
Lewis and Val Middleton; the Le-
gion Auxiliary wreath by Lorna El-
liott; the U.C.W. wreath by Made-
line Hardie; a wreath in memory of
comrade Jean Skolly by her son
Don Skolly; and the Masonic
Lodge wreath by Emerson De-
Graw.
St. Thomas Anglican
At the St. Thomas' Anglican
Church on Sunday, November 12
the Rev. Beverley Wheeler's mes-
sage was a story about the Rabbi's

CREDITON - .The Sneaky
Snackers Hallowe'en party was a
big success. It was held on October
30 at Mary Glavin's place.
Cathy Ryan, the public health
nurse for the Clinton area, came out
to tell us a little about dieting, eat-
ing habits and showed us a film
called "Fast Foods". We'll never eat
french fries or doughnuts again. A
special thanks goes out to Cathy
from everybody in the club.
For costumes, Valerie Ryan, Beth
Hartman, Kelly Glavin and myself
all got prizes for different catego-
ries.
The food was prepared by all the
members and was enjoyed by eve-
rybody.

At the Granton United Church on
Sunday, the Rev.. Bruce Pierce enti-
tled his sermon Blessed are the
Meek. The lessons were from
Isaiah 40 and mark 12.
Susan Bryan was the bulletin
steward. A remembrance day ser-
vice was held at the United Church
on Saturday morning, November
11.
The Youth group met at the home
of Julie McColl on Sunday eve-
ning.
Several people from Grantoa- at
tended the bazaar at Bryanston and
the„craft show at Lucan on Satur-
day.

Unit three met at Margaret
Bryan's home on Tuesday evening,
November 7.
The program took the form of a
skit entitled "there's still time to
change history”, presented by Mrs.
Bryan and Marguerite Garrett. The
latter also read the poem In Fland-
ers Fields.
The beef supper was discussed
'and plans made for the December
meeting.
