ZURICH - The Zurich Lions are
planning their 19th annual Lions
klub Stag that will be held at the
,Zurich Arena this Friday. Tickets
are available from Ralph Geiger or
!any other Lions Club member.
.The Lions are also holding a
Santa Claus Day for the Zurich
kids on Saturday December 23.
Rest Home Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary held their
monthly meeting at the Blue Wa-
ter Rest Home on November 7.
.Winner of prizes at the annual ba-
zaar included Gwyn Whilsmith,
who won the cake decorated by
Mary -Lou Erb, Elaine Merner and
Beryl Hogg both won baby quilts.
There were 12 other winners of
prizes at the penny sale table.
The Rest Home will be having
their annual family dinner for the
residents on Sunday November
26.
CWL
The St. Boniface CWL meeting
is next Tuesday, November 21 at
Sp.m. at St. Boniface School. The
pecial guest speaker will be Dr.
Hensall

HENSALL - The United Church
Friendship Circle met last Monday
in the church parlour, Shirley
McAllister chaired the meeting
and Donna Brock gave the devo-
tion.
The guest speaker for the after -
'noon was Susan Weigel, who of-
fered the group some. of her own
personal impressions of life in
I lungary in recent years.
The. hostesses were Beatrice
Richardson and Loretta Riley.
The next meeting will be De-
cember 4 at 1:30. •
United Church
Next Sunday is the church's an-
niversary service, and the guest
speaker for the morning will be
John King, a London Conference
Rural Life Consultant. After the
service a time for fellowship is
planned - refreshments will be
provided. •
1.ast Sunday, the Hensall Ex-
plorers were in charge, of the ser-
vice, and, along with their guests
from the Parkhill and Stratford Ex-
plorers, they presented a theme on
peace.
Shuffleboard
Twenty people showed up to
played shuffleboard last Tuesday,
and all played a full six games.
The highest score was 426,
'narked by Pearl McKnight. Dave
Kyle and Ellen Coutts tied at 372,
and Gertie Moir.placed third with
353.

Bingo winners ut Zurich last
Thursday were Doris Hamilton of
Hensall, who won the $1,000 jack-
pot, and Dorothy Smith of Zurich,
who won the mystery prize worth
$375.

The Zurich 4-1-1 club ended their
six-week session on microwave
cooking last week when they treat-
ed the Women's Institute to lunch
in the Hay Township Hall.
Card party
Everyone is welcome to join in a
card party, on Sunday evening at
the St. Peter's Parish Hall in St. Jo-
seph. It will begin the winter
card -playing season at 7:30 p.m.

Cyr, who is in St. Joseph's Hospi-
tal, Lovina Miller in South Huron
Hospital, and' to Harvey Clausius
and Theresa Hartman.
Twelve members of the Si Bon-
iface parish were among the 500
people who attended the Stratford
and District Right to Life dinner
meeting held at the Knights of Co-
lumbus hall in Stratford on Thurs-
day. Dr. Keith Cassidy from
Guelph spoke on new develop-
ments in euthanasia.
St. Boniface collected $565,
which was donated to the Right to
Life cause.
Congratulations to Joey Groot
and Pauy Regier, who were mar-
ried on Saturday at St. Boniface
Church.
Welcome to town, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Otterbein. The couple have
moved to Zurich from Clinton.
Another welcome goes to Larry
and Becky Northover who have
moved to town from the Kirkton
Area.
Congratulations go to Jim and
Denise Dietrich on the arrival of
their baby girl.

ZURICH - A new program start-
ed Monday evening consisting of
showing video travel films. This
week's travels included the city of
Saigon as well touring the Hawai-
ian Islands.
Tuesday evening the Ladies Aux-
iliary held their monthly meeting
and their program consisted of a
poem by Marie Gclinas, Mary Lou
Erb and Grace Martin entertained
the residents with several selections
on the piano and organ, and Diane
Miller and Harriet Vandenburgt
sang a fcw songs to complete the
evening.
On Wednesday a bus trip, provid-
cd by Bill Burr, travelled to the Pin-
ery and through Huron Woods sub-
division. -
Thursday afternoon our residents
were guests of Queensway resi-
dents for an afternoon of entertain-
ment and dancing. Thursday after-
noon the Legion njembers visited
the Home, providing our residents
with poppies for Remembrance
I)ay.
Friday evening provided one of
our most popular events - the week-
ly bingo.
Saturday our annual fall tea and
bazaar was held and, according to
all reports, it was a great success.
We wish to thank everyone who
helped baked or came to support
us.
The residents and staff would like
to congratulate staff member Patty
Groot (Regier) who was married on
Saturday. It was a great treat for the
residents whcn the bridal party vis-
ited the Home.
