The grade 7/8 class went to JS t3LOop Stratford on October 25 to see a opo soti double bill at the Shakespearean Festival. The plays they saw o were, Titus Andronicus and the a , Comedy of Errors. Titus Androni- cus was a tragic type of play and the Comedy of Errors was a com- edy. They were both very good. FXETEa Our Zone aid System soccer tournaments were played this month. The grade 5/6 girls of Precious Blood School -played against Mt. Carmel and lost 2-0. The boys lost in Stratford against the Bliz- zards by 7'0, They also played two other teams and won. The grade 3/4 team played soccer against Mt. Carmel. They played one game and Lost. Some of the team members were Shane Czypyha, Greg Geoffrey, Brent Hartman, Lawrence Cole, Brianne Czypyha, Sara Revington and Stephanie Kelly. We hope the grade 3/4 have better luck next year. Our grade 5/6 boys were in the zone finals against the Blizzards, St. Marys Hessen and St. Ambrose. Our boys played well and won all three games. - The grade 7/8 students of Precious Blood School went to Camp Syl- van on October 18. They learned about many problems in the environ- ment, like pollution and the extinction of animals, and what to do to prevent these things. They also learned about taking care of the envi- ronment and how to preserve nature. Mrs. Harrison, Precious Blood School's lunch monitor is in charge of the school's hotdog days. A special thanks to Mrs. Gregus and Mrs. Bi- linsky for setting up this month's hotdog day. The hotdogs were deli- cious. We would like to welcome Rochelle Geoffrey, to our news team. Generals double Belmont 6-3 EXETER - The Exeter Midget Generals hockey team recorded a 6-3 win over Belmont at the South Huron Rec Centre last Wednesday night in their only game of the week. The game was tied 2-2 after one period of play, with Brett Borden opening the scoring for Exeter, from Brett Lammie and John Bell, while on the power -play and Todd McCann scored from Jamie Cor - Child abuse CLINTON - The prevention of child abuse is the topic of a work- shop for early childhood educators to be held Wednesday, November 22, 1989, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Clinton Town Hall. Mr. Vic Chetcuti, a Child Abuse Specialist with Family and Chil- dren's Services of London and Mid- dlesex, will be the guest speaker. Mr. Chetcuti will provide partici- pants with information on recog- nizing child abuse, handling a dis- closure and reporting abuse. The evening will conclude with infor- mation on prevention programs for early childhood education services. The workshop is sponsored by the Huron Cqunty Community Child Abuse Coordinating Com- mittee. On Friday night they travelled to Brussels and won 6-1, on Satur- day they hosted Blyth and were 4-0 winners. • In Brussels, Jeff Glavin had three goals with single goals going to Kurt Mills, Darryl Parsons and Dereck Switzer. Glavin and Parsons also had two assists. Ben McCann, John Rutten had a single assist. Shane Wilson scored the Brussels goal. Jason Glavin had a good game in goal for Stephen in the opener. Against Blyth, Glavin had a pair of goals, Parsons and Rutten had the other two goals. Parsons and Rutten had two assists each with Glavin adding a sin- gle assist. - Tom Connor was in goal for the shutout.
