Mt. Brydges
EXETER The Exeter Pee
Wee Bullets recorded a close
4-3 win over Mt. Brydges in
a Lambton Middlesex Hock-
ey League game played on
Saturday.
The fust period was score-
less but Exeter got things go-
ing with a pair of goals m the
second frame. Kevin Ross
and Chris McDonald both
scored unassisted goals for
Exeter, but Mt. Brydges
scored three times and lead 3-
2 heading to the third.
Then in the third, Exeter
scored twice while holding
the opposition scoreless to
take the victory.
Scoring in the third for the
winners were; Geoff Hann
from Trevor Truemner and
McDonald and Inson from
McDonald and Mark Foster.
Jason Clay played well in
goal for Exeter keeping them
in the gamaand in the lead. "
Mt. Brydges pulled the goalie
in the last minute to try and
get the tying goal but
couldn't.
Exeter's record improves to
3-1. -
Lincoln Hawks
edge Eagles
EXETER - Exeter Lincoln
Hawk Bantams hosted the
Exeter Eagles at the SHRC
Sunday Evening, It was a
very close game and very
strong checking. with end-to-
end rushes by both teams.
Both goal tenders Dade
Stephens for Lincolns and
Jeff Empringham for the Ea-
gles played outstanding
games in net.
The only goal of the game
was scored by Al McFalls,
assisted by Jason McNeil and
Brian Gardner on a short
handed effort, with help from
Jeremy Brock and Tony
Armstrong at point.
It was a very exciting game
for fans to watch.
The Lincoln Hawks won
the contest.
Broncos beat
Forest 4-3
FOREST - The Exeter 'Atom
Broncos edged Forest 4-3 at the
Forest Arena, in Shamrock Hockey
League play on Sunday. It was Ex-
eter lone game of the week.
Exeter got off to a good start in
the game scoring three times in the
first period.
Chad Gilfillan scored from Jeff
Sararas, and Eric Clay, Jeff MacL-
ean scored from Adam Hem and
Geoff Maver and Sararas scored
from Clay and Maver in the first
period for the winners.
Forest's lone goal of the first was
scored just under four minutes into
the game. The goal cut the lead to
3-1.
Sararas scored the lone goal in
the second period, from MacLean,
restoring Exeter's three -goal cush-
ion.
Forest came back with a pair of
third -period scores to make it close
at 4-3, but couldn't get the equaliz-
er.
'Exeter outshot Forest 27-16 in
the game and carried a good por-
tion of the play. Forest scored
twice in the third on Jason Linden -
field, converting a couple of break-
aways to make it close.
Molting Havks
still unbeaten
EXETER = Exeter Molting
Hawks exploded for five., third -
period goals en route to a 10-4 win
over Andy's Old Wrecks. It was
their sixth straight win. of the sea-
son.
Ken Bergmann was a one-man
wrecking crew as he notched five
goals to lead the way, while Bob
Jones added two and Ernie Ahrens,
Brian Hodgins and Ron Moore net-
ted single.goals.
Scott Burton had three assists to
lead in that department, while Jack
Chipchase, Bergmann, Bob Jones
each added a pair, while Walt
Ticdeman, Bob McDonald, Phil
Turner, Jim Pfaff, Bob Parsons,
-and Ahrens added single assists.
They are in 'league action only
once this week as they play host to
London Southwest Old Tractor.
This weekend they travel to Sar-
nia to play ill the Annual tourney.
On Friday at 6 p.m. they play
against Lambeth Canadians. Their
next start is Saturday at 7 r.m. at
Point Edward as they play Kitchen-
er, Waterloo Falling Stars and at
noon they play Lansing at the
Township Arena.

Sunday.
Legion Pee Wees record pair of victories
EXETER - The Exeter Legion
Pee Wees hockey team picked up
two wins in as many league games
last week.
The locals shut down Forest 4-1
Supday afternoon and edged Port
Stanley 2-1 at the South Huron Rec
Centre Last Wednesday.
The game Sunday was scoreless
until Sean McCann went to work
for Exeter late in the second period.
He scored with seven minutes gone
in the second, with an unassisted
goal.
McCann struck early in the third
period as well. He got his second
goal of the game at 1:13, from Ga-
vin Snell and Andrew Hern and
completed his natural hatbtrick four
minutes later, from Snell and Jim
Deitrich.
Forest managed to get on the
board at 7:06 of the•third, breaking
Darren Kints shutout bid for Exeter,
before Ian Jean completed the scor-
ing for the winners with just over
five minutes left in the game.
Port Stanley struck first in last
Wednesday's game, at 12:03 of the
second period and led 1-0 heading
to the third.
McCann connected from Jean
and Snell at 1:18 of the third to get
Exeter on the board and won the
game just over a minute later with
an unassisted tally.
` Kints held Port Stanley off the
board the rest of the way.
The locals will have a make-up
game tonight, Wednesday, at the
SHRC at 7:45 p.lfr ..
Waxers lose close ones
EXETER - The Exeter Novice
Waxers lost'a pair of close games
in the Shamrock Hockey League
recently.
On October 27, the Waxers lost
3-1 against Lucan in Lucan and
lost 4-2 to Forest on Sunday.
In the October 27 game, it was
tied 1-1 after one period of play on
Lucan's goal by Brad Ankers from
Mike Herbert and Exeter's goal by
Scott Keyes from Greg Geoffrey
and Dave Marshall.
Lucan scored once in the second
and third periods to steal the win.
Ryan Silver scored unassisted for
Lucan in the middle period and
Scott Thompson scored from lobe
Morley.
Dave Ridded was the winning
goalie for Lucan.
Exeter scored first in Sunday's
game against Forest with Greg Ge-
offrey doing the horrors from Wien
Hayman before Forest took the lead
for good with a pair of goals later in
the period. S. Wilson old N. Rich-
ardson scored for the winners in the
first.
Brian Parsons scored the only
goal for Exeter from Chad Dalrym-
ple in the third for Exeter.
Exeter's record drops to 2-8-0.
