Haunted House raises funds for
new St. Boniface youth group
By Carmel Sweeney
ZURICH - The newly -formed St.
Boniface youth group raised $456
Last week at their Haunted House at
the church rectory. The Hal-
lowe'en project made use of the '
empty building to put a scare into
many of the youngsters, who visited
the show that night.
The raised funds will go a long
way towards supporting the group's
upcoming projects and activities.
The lovely patchwork quilt was
won by Shirley! Scriver from Wes-
ton (near Toronto), which goes to
show how far people were willing
to travel to visit the event. The mat
braided by Juliette Denomme was
won by Lee Regier of Zurich. Fa-
ther Hayes won the ceramic nativity
scene donated by the sisters.
Save those tapes
Everyone is being asked to save
their Tender Spot grocery tapes for
the Cubs and Brownies. Boxes are
set up in the store to collect the
tapes so a donation can be made to
those groups towards new camping
equipment.
CWL Bazaar
Saturday's Bazaar, Bake Sale and
Tea held by the Si. Boniface CWL
was rated a big success by the
group.

The St. Boniface Knights of Co-
lumbus have finalized plans for
their annual Harvest Dance. This

Rest Home theft victim
ZURICH - Evidently there are
people who do not consider hones-
ty to be the best policy. The reflec-
tors which were erected at the en-
trance of the new driveway leading
to the receiving area and staff park-
• ing lot have been removed twice.
At this time of year when the days
arc short, foggy or stormy the
driveway is not readily visible
without reflectors. Large delivery
trucks, evening and night nurses,
and even visitors who use this
driveway could be severely injured.
This happened during the past
month and was not a Hallowe'en
prank. Sorry if this sounds like
,sour grapes, but even you might
suffer directly okindirectly from
such an act. _
• Residents welcomed quite a large
number ofchildren dressed in cos-
tume to collect their treats and visit
with their relatives on Hallowe'en
night.
