"A" champions - The Zurich Eagles won the "A" championship at the Dashwood Rookies Men's
Slow -Pitch Tournament held on the weekend defeating the Dashwood Bears. The Mitchell Indians
defeated the Crediton Cowboys 21-5 in the "B" championship game. The MVP for Zurich was Dan

Squirt finalists decided in Exeter minor soccer play
EXETER - This week in Squirt
action the "A" Division and "B" Di-
vision finals were decided.
Exeter II defeated Coldstream I 3-
2 and Exeter III defeated Coldstream
II 4-0. Both Exeter teams advanced
to the "A" Division.
However, in the finals on Satur-
day they were unable to continue
their quest to Coldstream and Exeter
III was defeated by Nairn I. Exeter I
lost to Nairn II and Exeter IV lost
to Lucan III.
This placed them in the "B" Divi-
sion. On Saturday, Exctcr I and Ex-
eter IV won their first games. This
then matched the two teams in the
second round with Exctcr I win-
ning.
Exctcr I then advanced to the B fi-
nal to play Lucan.
The Atom I team played two
games this week. The first against
Ilderton which they won 3-1, and
the second game they also won eas-
ily with an 8-0 score against Lucan"

Exeter II played Coldstream and
ended up with an 8-1 victory. 3 `tis
leaves both Exeter teams tied `or
first place. On Monday night t,n;y
will play against one another t' de-
termine first place.
On Wednesday night the prelimi-
nary playoff round will be played to

the league with final playoffs to be
on August 19. Congratulations to

they continued their winning form
beating Lucan 5-0 and Grand Bend
5-1 in the preliminaries. In the A fi-
nals they faced off against St. Co-
lumban.
Both teams played a very exci.,ng
game that ended in a 2-2 at the end
of regulation time. Neither team
were able to score in the two five-
minute overtime periods. Exetc • fi-
nally won on a penalty shot.
In under -seventeen action, Ex,.ter
scored late in a game against Mier -
ton to win 1-0. This then gay c: Ex-
eter a third-place finish. They
playoff games are to be held on Au-
gust 26.
