don Simmons of Woodstock, her
four brothers with their wives and
families.
At Heywoods , Restaurant on
Monday, July 31, -there were nine
tables playing euchre with prizes
going to: High Score Betty Guil-
foyle, Joe Carter, Lone Hands Mary

score 'Olive Volk, Gordon Eaton.
Next gathering will be August 14
at 2:30.
Plans fpr the annual beef barbe-
cue are now underway at the Cen-
tralia Copmunity Park. This year
the ball tournament begins August
25 and the dinner is on Saturday,
August 26 with the finals going on
August 27.
The Centralia Parks board and the
Centralia -Huron Park Fire depart-
ment are the organizations sponsor-
ing this event and tickets will be
available from any member, plus
other business.
The park has been a busy place
especially with the building of the
pavilion.

LUCAN - There were 46 occur-
rences and three motor vehicle acci-
dents investigated by members of
the Ontario Provincial Police in
Lucan over the .past week. There
were no major occurrences or acci-
dents reported over the holiday
.weekend.
Approximately 20 investigations
and two minor injury accidents oc-
curred over the weekend. Six per-
sons were charged with liquor viola-
tions but no impaired drivers were
encountered.
During the week, most reports in-
volved minor and general nature in-
cidents such as abandoned vehicles,•
alarms, possible rabid animals and
noise or traffic complaints. There
was orre break and enter to a resi-
dence in London Township and four
theft complaints which were inves-
tigated.

The Youth Group are to meet
Thursday September 28 at 6:30
p.m. at Thames Road Ball Park Di-
amond for a baseball game between
Centralia and Ziin West and our
Youth Group.
Following the game a hayride
will take place and a wiener roast at
7:30 p.m. The evening will be fin-
ished at 9 p.m. and the young peo-
ple will be able to be picked Gp at
the manse then.

The mothers and children of the
Sunday School are invited to a pool
party at the home of Hazel Davis
on Tuesday, August 15, weather
permitting, with pot luck lunch.
I am glad to report Arnold Cun-
ningham is recuperating at home
and Heather MacGillivray was able
to leave hospital. She and Katie
Scarlett spent three days at the
home of her parents while Mr. and
Mrs. John MacGillivray, Lions
Head, came to Bob's assistance with
the children.
Mrs. Hugh Davis, Mrs. Nadine
Bedell and I attended the Saturday
matinee at the Blyth theatre.
Mrs. Shirley Dyer, Sarnia spent
the holiday with Mr. and Mrs.
Wayne Carroll and family.
