Lucan downs St. Marys
ST. MARYS - On Wednesday
night the Lucan Junior baseball
team met St. Marys for the first
time in three scheduled games last
week against each other, with St.
Marys winning the game by a
close 3-2 count.
The teams split a twin bill Sun-
day in St. Marys with Lucan win-
ning the first contest 7-6 and St:"
Marys taking the night cap 12-10.
Wednesday game is St. Marys
was opened with thre-runs in the
first inning, unfortunately St. Mar-
ys had two of them while one went
Co Lucan.
Lucan got their run on a one -out
double by Chris Smith, who later
scored when the next batter Dan
Jenken followed with a single.
Lucan scored twice more in the
third frame when Smith and Jenken
scored again to give the locals a
lead but St. Marys didn't die and

dies Fastball recorded two more
league wins last week, skunking
St. Pauls in Exeter last Tuesday
15-0 and doubling first -place St.
Marys Monday night, 10-5. ,
The win against St. Pauls
avenged an earlier loss when they
were beaten 4-3.
Kendra Arthur went three for five
at the plate, Patti Down and Gayle
Bauerman were each three for four,
while Sandi Fremlin was two for
four.
Heidi Elliot was the winning

In the Lucan fifth, Steve Nixon
scored to tie the game and tie
stayed tied until the bottom of the
seventh when St. Marys took a 5-4.

Crediton ends losing streak
CREDITON - The Crediton la-
dies fastball team were only able to
take one win out of four games in
the last two week's play.
The local squad finished their reg-
ular season last night with a res-
cheduled game against Sebring-
ville. They now await their new
schedule which will probably start
next week.
Crediton 5 - St. Pauls 7
It was a real batter's match when
St. Paul travelled to Crediton. The
Cowgirls were able to tie up the
game in the third inning 3-3 but in
the seventh allowed the visiting
team to move ahead for the win.
Leading Crediton at the plate was
Mary McKillop with three singles,
Brenda Wilds, Teresa McGee and
Brenda Morgan were two for four
trips to the plate and adding single

It was another batter's fight when
Exeter travelled to Crediton.
Exeter's Sandi Fremlin's home
runs were the key hits for Exeter
which helped make the spread in the
score and gave Exeter the win.
Leading Crediton with her bat
was Teresa McGee with four single
hits. Brenda Wilds and Brenda Mor-
gan knocked a triple and single each
while Lori Devlacminck, Teresa
VanRaay and Kell Philips added
single hits.
Crediton 17 - Mitchell 5
Crediton got back on the winning
side when they travelled to Mitch-
ell.
Six out of seven innings, the
Cowgirls sent their teammates
across the home plate.
Tammy Smith knocked out a
triple, double and two singles to
lead Crediton. Mary McKillop con-
sistently hit with one double and
three singles.
Brenda Morgan pounded out a
long home run and also added two
singles while Karen Williams also
hit long balls with two doubles
and a single. Teresa McGee was two
for two with a double and single.
Brenda Wilds helped the win with
three singles, Mary Lou Tasko with
two singles and Kate Steeper and
