LUCAN - Track and field events
have dominated the organized sports
program. At the school meet, the
following recordswerebroken:
Softball throw for 8 and under
category - Aaron Patterson; Long
jump for 11 year old boys - Chris
Haskett; 100m Dash for 12 year old
boys - J.B. Mason; 400m Relay for
13 and over boys - Nathan Ryan,
Darcy Maguire, Derek Greenlee,
Brian Heckman; 100m dash for 12
year old girls - Debbie Greenlee;
Long Distance Run - 1500m for 11
and under - Allison Hodgins. We
were indeed proud of these young
athletes.
The school age group champions
will be receiving a school medal-
lion. Congratulations is extended to
Denver England and Teresa Lojzer
for the 9 and 10 year olid category;
to Chris Haskett and Kellie Wil-
liams for the 11 year old category;
to J.B. Mason and Melissa Hardy
for the 12 year old category and to
Brian Heckman and Denise Ward for
the 13 and over category.
At the awards assembly the Gifted
Student Award was given to Andrea
French by Dr. E.J. Anderson; the
Middlesex County Home & School
Award was given to Stacey Evans
by Mrs. Virginia Scott; the Craig
Burgess Academic Award was given
to Chris Revington by Mrs. S.
Burgess; the Biddulph Home &
School Special Education Award
was given to David Banman by
Mrs. Virginia Scott, and the Chess
Championship Award was given to
Darcy Maguire by Brian Lewis.
Students received award bars for
cross country, volleyball, gymnas-
tics, choir, softball, auendance, soc-
cer, basketball, track and field, li-
brary club, pushball, intramurals
and computer club.
A volunteer tea was held for
school volunteers. Mrs. L. Reving-
ton hosted the afternoon function.
The Graduation was held at the
Lucan Community Centre. After
Grace by the Rev. B. Pocock, the
students, their family and friends,
staff and invited guests enjoyed a
delicious dinner. The program in-
cluded a welcome by the Principal,
Mr. A. Hull; greetings from the
Middlesex County Board of Educa-
tion by Mrs. J. Martens, Trustee;
the presentation of diplomas and
school pins by Mr. L. DeMay, Mr.
I. Bennett, Mrs. J. Mathers and
the valedictcrian address
by Lisa Carroll and closing re-
marks. The master of ceremonies
was David Pocock. A student dance

Award to Heather Glendinning and
the Morley Award to Darcy Ma-
guire; Mr. R. Salts presented the
Trojan Award to Derek Greenlee;

Award to Jason Gnay.
Staff who will be leaving Bid-
dulph to assume positions in other
facilities will include Brian Lewis,
Mme. M. Monk, Mlle S. McNa-
mee and Randy Martin. We wish
them the best and thank them for
the contributions they made to the
school and community. In the new
school year we will welcome the
fpllowing new staff members: Ms.
L. Ifill - Grade 4, Mrs. R. Jackson -
Music, Mme. S. Kelsall - French
and S.E.W. teachers Mrs. C.
McLean and Mrs. D. Abraham.
The staff extend to the parents ap-
preciation for their fine cooperation
during the current school year and
