New Lucan group
LUCAN - On Thursday, June 29,
the newly -formed Christian Fellow-
ship Group gathered at Bob and
Helen Patterson's for a barbecue.
When the meat was barbecued, the
group and its visitors descended on
the food -laden tables.
Because of the moderate tem
tore, there were hot dishes, saw,
jellos, relishes, Ed's fruit punch and
plenty for second servings. The des-
serts were equally tempting.
Gord included many players in
his hat and clothes pin game. For
the next activity, there were choices
- croquet, lawn darts and chatting.
In the cozy confines of the gar-
age, Gord conducted the devotional
servict with "God's Luggage Shed"
as its theme. Ed accompanied the
singing of "Count Your Blessings"
on his guitar.
Bob read from Matthew, the story
of the talents. A thought-provoking
reading, comparing'luggage and tal-
ents was given by Helen and Mari-
on. To close this part of the ser
vice, Marion gave a prayer.
During the business meeting,
suggestions Were given for the July
16 church service that Doug and
Martha Butler are helping the group
The summer church services are
at 10:00 a.m.
Again Ed accompanied, as many
old favourite songs were sung. M
the strains of "Good Ni*ht, Ladies"
faded into the air, it carred a double
meaning. The evening was over:
the season is finished.
