They also picked up one in the fourth and seventh in- nings and added two more in the eighth. The game was then called after seven and a half' be- cause of rain and stands as an Exet- er win. PITCH -IM Merner was the offensive hero in this contest, picking up two hits in five at bats, driving home three and Schwindt also had two hits in four trips and scored a rust. Genttner picked up a single and a run batted in, Brent O'Brien singled and scored a run, Gregus doubled a. scored a run, Scott Russel singled. and Scot Davidson scored twice on three walks. Keller had the other hit for the Co-ops. • Genttner went all the way on the mound to pick up his second win. .He shut out Clinton on just two hits and struck out nine. The locals scored their run in the third when Ryan Stuart, Steve Far- quhar and Beckett all walked and Agnew was safe on a fielder's choice. In the Exeter fifth, Stuart led off with a single, went to second when Derek Vandyken singled and scored when Agnew singled. Vandyken and Agnew both rode home on a. double by Lindenfield. Lakeside came back to score five time on five hits in their half of the third inning, which made it a'15-5 ball game in favor of the defending provincial Senior D baseball cham- pions. Exeter picked up one more in the fourth inning. Martin singled with two out and scored when Parsons followed with a double. They also picked up their final run in the fifth. With one gone, Steve Merner singled went to sec- tt ond when Gilmour walked and scored when Horner singled. Lakeside picked up its final run of the game in tlye seventh innings, with the benefit of just one hit. David Atthill pitched the first five innings for the Express and picked up the win. He gave up five Lake- side runs on just seven hits, struck out three and walked only onc. Steve Pearce finished up, pitching the final two innings and gave up a solo hit and run in the seventh. The Express were trailing 1-0 in the second inning in their game in Seaforth last Tuesday but had it postponed when the rains came. It will be made up at a later date.. The Express were scheduled to play Seaforth in Exeter yesterday, Tuesday, evening. Next lcague'game for the Express will be Tuesday evening when they travel back to Seaforth for a 6:30 p.m. game.
