The Chapter enjoyed hearing the
interesting information on "Family
Support Services", presented by
Diane Jeffery on March 7. March
21 was Election of Officers and dis-
cussion on the future format of the
chapter. - -
April 11 the members took a road
trip to London -to view the film,
"Rain Man" at the Capitol Theatre.
On April 27, members attended the
58th B.eta Signa Phi Founder's Day
in Mitchell.
Installation of the 1989-90 offi-
cers, the revealing of Secret Sisters
and the presentation of Woman of
the Year to Diane Jeffery was per-
formed on May 2.
To wind up the sorority year the
members dined at The Opera House
Restaurant and attended the musical
production of The Saloon Keeper's
Daughter in St. Marys, on May 11,
1989.

CREDI'ON - The first meeting
of Crediton No. 5 was held at the
home of Lanne Kaak on May 15 at
6:30 p.m.

First membrs were to read "Wel-
come to the 'ield of landscaping,
let's look at pants. What is a Her-
baceous Plant...What is a Woody
Plants?" Wt listed the Daisy,
White cedar, tunato, sugar maple,
dandelion an douwood under the cor-
rect headings.
We continuedo read "Why land-
scape? First steps to take." We
then did sample,roblems.and un-
scrambled word: to find the fre-
quently used mateials.
We continued ti read "Decision
making". Mary aril Dianne told us
our home activites, we are to
sketch our house n the centre of
the paper and draw vhere and what
you are planting ant to colour it.
We arc also to draw I title page and
come up with a name to go with it.
We were told by Diznne to do the
roll call at home. -
We went to Vanletrwen Green
House. Jerry Vanlc uwen, our
host, told us how he stapes Hick's
Yew into animals, tcmerature for
seeds to germinate, and what flow-
ers grow bcst in the shade. Vice
president Jenny thanked our host for
allowing us in his green house.
The secondmeetingwill be held
at the home of Lisa Glavin on May
22. Club members are: Jenny Gla-
vin, Kelly Glavin, Lisa Glavin,
Rosemary Glavin, Becky Hartman,
Bcth Hartman, Julie Kaak Chcy-
anne Olmstead, Charlene Ryan-,
Valerie Ryan, Margie Steffens and

Sorority keeps busy
EXETER - Some of the members
of Beta Theta Preceptor Chapter of
Beta Sigma Phi Sorority spent an
enjoyable "Getaway Weekend", at
the Royal Hotel in Toronto on Jan-
uary 21 and 22, 1989.
On January 24, the Chapter held a
"Friendship Night", with members
inviting guests to attend the meet-
ing. Everyone enjoyed a social eve-
ning of conversation and card play-
ing.
On February 7, guest speaker,
Jeff Sabin, Ontario Provincial Po-
lice Officer and head of Crime Stop-
pers of Huron County Incorporation
informed the members of how the

DASHWOOD - The Zion Luthe-
ran Jr. Choir is presenting The
Riverside Handchime Choir from
London. Everyone welcome. This
Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Luthe-
ran Church.
The Good Companions Senior
Citizens meeting was held Monday,
May 14. -
Aldene Wolfe's group took charge
of the program on Mother's Day
and Harry Hoffman sang a solo en -
tided "Mother's Prayers".
A musical number was accompa-
nied by Laura Miller on the piano.
The next meting is June 19 and
will feature a pot luck dinner at
12:30 p.m. followed by the annual
picnic.
Last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Hoffman attended the meeting
of the London Chapter of the Mon-
archiast League of Canada at the El-
sie Ferris Williams Estate in Lon-
don to commemorate the 50th
Anniversary of the Canadian Tour
of King George VI and Queen Eliz-
abeth.
On Saturday, Aldene Wolfe ac-
companied her family from London
and Dorchester to the wedding re-
ception of Pat Wolfe and Rick La-
ing in Oakville.
Birthday wishes go to Beulah
Desjardine who is celebrating her
87th year.
