LUCAN - On Sunday, May 14,
the Living Word Congregational
Church gathered together at Lucan
Public School Auditorium to hon-
our
and worship the Lord but, also
to honour the mothers because it
was Mother's Day.
Sunday school started as usual
with a short• song followed by a
prayer then off to their classrooms
they went.
The service began with a sing
time of old and new hymns, all fa-
vorites, then greeting one another.
Scripture readings were from Prov-
erbs 10:1-12, Psalms 139:13-24,
Luke 7:11-17 and Acts.2. In Luke
chapter 7:11-17.
Pastor Shaule expressed very
strongly how Jesus brought back to
life a son for his mother who was a.
widow at that time, and how the
crowd around them was so amazed
at the miracle Jesus performed.
The message was Gods Love and
a Mother's Love. During the ser-
mon Pastor Shaule emphasized how
we must honour our moms because
of how they raised us up from ba-
bies to adults. But, we weren't to
forget to honour God for Itis love
as well. Because if it wasn't for
God none of us would be here.
There were a few Moms stood up
and spoke of how they felt that they
were blessed by being a mother.
Bible studies will carry on this
week as usual. From the sound of
things June has some real exciting
activities coming up so stay tuned
and for further information please
call or contact Rev. Darrell Shaule
at 227-1296.
