Lucan Juniors
LUCAN - After losing to the Ex-
eter Co-ops in their first game of
the season last Wednesday, the Lu -
can Junior baseball team bounced
back to defeat St. Marys 6-3 Sun-
day in Lucan.
St. Marys opened scoring with
one run in the first inning. But St.
Marys' good playing produced noth-
ing more until they capitalized on a
couple of lapses on Lucan's defens-
es in the seventh inning when they
were able to push across their final
two runs. '
Lucan got a strong performance
split first two
from pitcher Steve Johnson who
pitched 7 2/3 innings racked up five
strikeouts and held St. Marys to
only one run through six innings.
Chris Smith came on and pitched in
relief for Lucan in the 8th and did a
lip job holding St. Marys scoreless,
while striking out four.
St. Marys pitching produced nine
strikeouts and. stranded numerous
Lucan runners.
However, Nate Stahl's two -run
single in the first and RBI's by Tyl-

Smith provided all the runs that Lu -
can required for the victory.
